    Flasher failures

Ebay, of course, about $15/ea. Look for "aircraft relays". Surplusnut has 'em. Made by Cutler Hammer or Leach. BTW, they are rated 25 amps, hermetically sealed and are good for the full mil spec temp range. Suite the deuce to a T. :-)

    Flasher failures

Yeah, I like them big. A 25 amp mil spec relay can handle a 10 amp "lamp load" with inrush currents up to 100 amps...

    Flasher failures

The flasher unit on our trucks are prone to failure simply because the new ones are built with Radio Shack parts and appear to have no overload protection. The encapsulant hides all. I dissected several units for an article a few years ago and since this subject comes up so often I thought I'd...

    Medium towbars one fat

Thanks, I'll keep that in mind. Was hoping for a match for my universal adapters shown in a post back a little in this thread. They have a hole size of 1-1/8", too small for the heavy TB's....

The heavy towbar uses a gender changing adapter (circled in the image below), anybody know where I could get a pair? What is the gap dimension? Thanks,

    Biodiesel in the beginning

RE: Re: Biodiesel in the beginning At one time at Aberdeen in 2005, a couple of guys nearby wondered what we were cooking before they realized that it was the deuce burning biodiesel/veggie oil. :-)

    Biodiesel in the beginning

RE: Re: Biodiesel in the beginning Yes, still works well. The methanol and lye are mixed in a 2-gallon glass jar. It takes about 20 minutes for the lye to dissolve into the methanol. It gets warm (about 90°F) and gives off fumes. I use a wooden spoon and stir it every so often while doing other...
