The GEP18002668 plugs went in today after yesterday's no-start.
The left (easy) side was low drama with only one slightly swollen.
Right side was a nightmare. The first one (working rear to front from the doghouse) was ugly. I couldn't pull it out and it was looking like I was going to need...
Woke up at 4:30 to go to work with about 4" of snow on the ground and nothing plowed. Took the Grand Cherokee which is very good in snow due to electronic locking diffs and traction control, plus four new Mickey Thomson BajaBoss AT tires. We got off early because the snow kept falling - that's...
I gave up on VT. Despite demanding my email and phone number, they don't actually use it.
I used the info on their website to calculate the fees and waited five weeks. Then I got EVERYTHING back in the mail with a letter telling me I didn't include enough money.
Rewrote the check and...
Be very cautious on facebook (and everywhere else really) when browsing HMMWV parts as there are almost as many thieves as there are legitimate sellers.
If you don't know how to do an image search read up on it, as many of the thieves are using photos from Seco ad other legitimate sellers in...
I like the classic look as well, but it will be far less money and effort if you put a brush guard on the truck- with the brush guard the snout is not very noticeable.
I just saved you thou$and$. :driver:
Curious how something rated for 200 amps would be dangerous to complete the ground circuit as the OP describes.
Not something I would do because I want the jump-start option available, but I appreciate any free education offered.
Good find. My complaint about no pictures is because I need the opposite connector from the one in my picture, and I want to be sure of what I'm buying.
I wasn't aware of Newark, and Digikey has something with that number but no picture to confirm it, and appears to be available only in bulk.
Still, even getting a shiny new plug doesn't help me much since I'd have to pin it out, and you may as well ask me to write a paper on quantum physics - I...
OK, where on earth do you find them?
I need two cannon plugs (AN3102-20-17) but no internet search effort finds useful (not buying 1,000 of them, has picture to confirm it's the right thing).
I'd settle for just the pin sockets so I can mold my own but don't know where to find them, or what...
I picked up my first M1101 on Ft Lewis and it was moderately supervised. If I was the type of person that helps himself to things, I could have helped myself to things.
When I picked up my 2nd M1101 it was at a big yard in Lakewood, and there was nobody on site whatsoever. That was scary...
Where did you find the fault before you changed the fuses?
You did find the fault before you installed the fuses ... right?
If you just put three new fuses in the problem that blew the old ones still exists, and the CUCV fuse panels are a known weak point. Proceed with caution.
Thanks. The idea of asking for thoughts was to see if I was being too picky. I always hold out the idea that I might be completely wrong about a thing, so that's why I posted here first, to get other's opinions. I appreciate yours! I hope my comment didn't sound condescending- it wasn't...
You're hard of noticing then. ;)
You would have called and asked them first... before what? I haven't installed them.
The hexes show varying degrees of damage, from none to serious; one has damage that left a very sharp displacement. My poor skills at macro photography nothwithstanding...
Good luck. I see a 94% ebay rating and I move on. But, it's $15 so no big loss if he sends the wrong part or never sends.
Sorry, gotta go to work sometime... ;)
One thing to note is the cord length. I had hoped to go forward and have it in the grille like any of the ones I've seen in use...
