Make sure you have the right torque wrench. Those torques are in inch-pounds, not foot-pounds.
The reason for the broad range is so you can tighten them to the middle of the range, and if that proves not to be enough, you may keep tightening until it is, up to but not exceeding the high...
So where are we currently?
Fuel? Are you getting white smoke while cranking?
- If yes; you have fuel into the cylinders, it's just not lighting off.
- If no; crack one of the injectors and crank to see if you have some fuel pressure.
No smoke and/or no fuel at the injectors might mean the...
First pic is the auction pic - all my other pics are of it wet from rain. Second pic is after painting. I never did get to the windshield surround, so you might be able to notice it.
The only prep I did was to scrub it good with a green scrub pad and soapy water. I followed the cammo pattern...
I painted my 1165 with rapco rattlecans. I didn't do the typical spray over the whole truck OD green and then apply the cammo colors, I just painted the brown parts brown, green parts green, and black parts black. It came out much better than I was expecting, and every bit as good as what the...
I have Hagerty on my 2006 M1165 - no drama getting it. I filled out the form online and had to call the guy, but that was because my WAG as to value was off. I guessed $30K for a replacement value, which is about $8K more than I currently have into it. He said he'd need the bill of sale and...
Figured out why the temp gauge was inop - the pigtail between the gauge and the harness is crumbly at both ends. I cinched a wire-tie around the connector for now. If anyone has one let me know.
Drove it around a while and the needle sits about 12:00 in the gauge. The fan cycles on briefly...
Well, now that I'm insured I decided to put some miles on the 1165 and shake out any problems that might be lurking. Drove down to the auto parts store for antifreeze and then just meandered all over town listening to the engine.
I heard the fan cycle on a few times, but it never stayed on...
VT will not issue a title because the vehicle is more than 15 years old. They will issue a title for vehicles more than 15 years old but ONLY if you're a VT resident in VT. So right now I have the Montana title that has the Style code of OH (off highway) and eventually VT plates.
Here in WA...
What I'm currently wondering is if I should go ahead and get the WA off-highway title even though I'll be running VT plates. The advantage is the State cannot accuse me of registering in VT to avoid the WA sales tax, since I'll have to pay them that for the off-highway title. Thats the part...
I went to a licensing office in Bremerton and everything was going smoothly until they got to the six digit VIN, then the computer choked. The clerk called the State, and the person there told the clerk WA does not issue on-road titles or registration for the HMMWVs.
So I'm currently waiting...
This is how I prime the fuel system - vacuum pump connected to the extra filter boss pulls fuel through the pump and fills the filter. Truck starts immediately, stutters a bit as the post-filter lines get filled, then runs like a top.
Called Hagerty because they said they had some questions, one of which was my estimation of replacement cost. Once we sorted that out he put it through and I am insured. Still waiting for Vermont plates.
There's your answer. Call customer service and tell them all this- ask why you didn't win. They might be surprised at what you found and offer it to you, if for no other reason than to shut you up.
When I bid on my first M1101 (govliq) I quit bidding when the price went north of $1K, and...
