Quasi mil related…..
I have two large cookoo clocks I bought while it was stationed in WEST GERMANY . If anyone knows a collector or interested in buying them, I can bring them. Photo of one attached but the second is generally similar. I also have a bunch of old GI Joe Stuff from the...

No idea on sources. I don’t have any that I know of although I’m doing a pre- pre- pre-retirement downsizing. Most of what I got left is mainly tools, a few tents, and some other odds and ends. If I run into one of these while cleaning house, I’ll let you know.
That stinks. I did two trips from Newnan Ga to El Paso in my deuce. plus one from El Paso to Aberdeen MD. I still consider all that driving as my moments of glory.
So what is a DTID? That is the Disposal Turn In Document (number). It consists of the unit DODAAC (Department of Defense Activity Address Code) which is a unique code for each unit. If the first digit is a “W” it is Army. The DODAAC is the first six digits. This I followed by the Julian...
Second part is to ask for the DD Form 1348-6 from DLA. This would be the Turn in document. If you have a chalk or paint pen DTID (on a RMO label or you may have found it on some papers left in the tub o sometimes DRMO writes it in chalk or a paint pen on the vehicle) then that is that would...
I must have been jet lagged when I wrote my response. Horrible typos. I did a thread on FOIA requests a few years ago. Suggest looking up that thread. Also you should review the VIN INFO thread to understand potential what you will receive. A TAACOM FOIA would be for a copy of the DA Form...
actually, the reg is that DLA is required to retain data for military vehicles and weapons for 75 years. For foreign military sales, it’s forever until told differently. All other documents, it’s 10 years. Now wether or not the militarydid everyy correctly is a different mattER. That’s why...
If it’s not already listed in any of the previous VIN INFO threads or is not in the listings povided in this thread, you will have to do a Freedom of Information Act request (US citizenship required). I posted a threa on how to o this after the data was shut down.
This thread is a little old but a bit of additional info. There are other NSN’s for thes kits. The two provided above we often referred to by the last 4 of the NSN and ‘kit’. Both of these kits are 1st generation of the modern GMTK. The 0249 kit was assembled by Kipper with primarily...
. Good question but not sure who would have a good answer. They were equipped with a plethora of hydraulic powered, hand held equipment. My concern about a dipper mounted hammer would be metal fatigue/vibration damage .
More complicated than that. Sign up and about year 12 you’ll start to gain the knowledge. By year 15 you think you have it. Year 20 you’ll know you’re not the smartest guy in the room on any given topic but luckily, you know who is. At year 25 they change everything and you become ignorant...
For a start, drop the Y4 and use AA. This goes for all army UICs. The Y4 is a Derivative UIC (DUIC). It’s a subordinate component of the main unit. Main units always end in AA. Y is probably a stay at home equipment while the unit deployed.
