I thought it was curious. All my other units have "Onan" casted into the valve covers. I was surprised to see it branded Lister, even though it is. When did production of the 802 and 803s end? Maybe they ran short of Onan branded parts and said screw it, and finished production with Lister...

3600 rpm, open frame, box store generators are all terrible. This was a Honda-built unit I tested. I doubt off-brand is better.

Back in the day, I built large parade floats. The artistic parts were made of fabric foam, cloth, and spray foam. The mice loved that stuff for nest building. We used dryer sheets to keep them away and never had a problem afterwards. I never understood the sciemce behind it, but it did work...

My local utility power was more distorted than what my 802a was producing. I consider the TQGs to be "clean" power.

How did you calculate THD with that scope? I have a Rigol DS1054Z and I think the only good way to do it is export the raw data.

If you have everything wired up correctly and it trips the overload after a min or so, it is likely the contacts in S6 or S8 are dirty. Buy a spray can of Deoxit D5 and thoroughly clean out those 2 switches to start with.

All true, but this requires equipment to have 3-phase motors and most residential A/Cs have single phase motors. You could swap the condensor fan easily, but the compressor is still single phase. Newer, high SEER, A/Cs are already inverter driven. (Which is great)
