    Fuel Tank Access Cover

I second your endorsement of it. It made the recent fuel problem I had much less of a big deal than it otherwise would have been.

    How to check this?

    Loss of power. White smoke.

    I'll check this.

    Cost for a 1078 Bed?

I was asking $1000 and sold it for $940. I sat on it for well over a year before it sold.

    Loss of power. White smoke.

I've got about 300 trouble free miles on the M998 since the sock clogged. New lift pump, new filter, everything is clean. I drove it about 60 miles yesterday. 30 miles out, running errands, ate dinner and then came home. On the way back, it was running just fine. Fan cycling on and off like it...

    Trade Ettiquete (sp?)

I'd put it in the for sale section and phrase it as "I value it at $600, but what I'd really like is to trade it for some wheels and tires."

    M52A2 Questions

Don't bet on it. The safe presumption is that anything not seen running doesn't run.

    M52A2 Questions

The hard tops are generally preferred. You'd probably be able to find someone willing to trade, with cash your way.

    Battery charging question

I remove it. But I've put these on MEP802 gensets in the door pocket and charged with the door closed.

    Battery charging question

I saw no reason not to go this route. 24V charger hardwired into the back of the slave port. I've done several of these on various pieces of equipment and haven't seen any imbalances on charging.

Flat towing Humvee with 40,000 lb military tow bar

Other 4x4s I've flat towed have specified t case in neutral and transmission in park. My 6spd manual Ram specifies tcase in neutral and transmission in gear. Perhaps something turns due to parasitic drag in the M998 due to the lack of Park. 30 miles vs 300 - possibly it takes a while for...

Flat towing Humvee with 40,000 lb military tow bar

The nonsense theory comes from the TM, the vessel of all knowledge relevant to the HMMWV.

M998 blowing white smoke almost constantly

    Stuck ring, preventing adequate compression?

    Looking to Purchase an LMTV

The difference is buying new tires vs buying surplus tires. The tire size is 395 85 R20.

Flat towing Humvee with 40,000 lb military tow bar

I've flat towed a *bunch* of auction 6x6 5ton trucks from Ft Riley KS to Tucson AZ. I've flat towed my 9300lb pickup truck behind 5tons, and I've flat towed CUCVs behind my pickup. I've towed an M998 behind a jeep gladiator. These two vehicles are roughly equivalent in weight. It towed fine...

    HMMWV recovery U-Haul nightmare

The way the weight is distributed on the trailer is prone to shift forward allowing the front trailer axle to take the lion's share of the load. If this happens during braking and maneuvering, it's possible that it'll begin a positive reinforcing vigorous side to side shake. It'll likely be...

    auto trailer

KS backroads, HMMWV on the heavy towbar behind the Gladiator. I've done literally tens of thousand of miles of flat towing 6x6 military trucks. Like @patracy I've done some questionable towing. But that's when there weren't better options readily available. The M1079 behind the redtruck...
