Hello All,
My new M1045A2 has a 6.5 versus my M988 which has a 6.2. When I checked the blow by on the 6.5 and went to put the Oil cap back on the filler tube it did not lock down like the 6.2. It got to a point of "snugness" then would "strip". I would then had to get it to the tightest point...
Hello All. I did not make it down last weekend, but leaving to check it out tomorrow. Just a few questions that I hope you can help me with.
1) The Hood on my 1987 M988 is in good shape and not cracked. Is it the same as the 2003 M1025A2 so I could swap them?
2) Is the Turret the same on an...
Hello Tobash. Yes, the Military removed the Turret. I was already thinking about reinstalling it if that is possible. If I do it will most likely leak, but I'm kinda used to that now. lol.
Hello All. I want to thank everyone for their input. It looks like I am making the trip down to see the vehicle tomorrow. After speaking with the owner its the only way I will be able to see what the true condition is. I'll let everyone know if the M1045A2 gets a new home or not. I know everyone...
Hello All. I'm looking at a Truck with this Keyed switch installed. I don't like it or want it. Can it be returned to the original configuration? I thought I read you had to drill the original hole open slightly to make the Keyed switch fit. Would that be just the plate or the dash itself? Long...
Hello All,
I have the opportunity to purchase an M1045A2 for what I think is a reasonable price these days. Its a 2003 6.5 with 4 speed. For me I always wanted a Slant Back. The problem is I love my 1987 M998 and have done most of the work and all the maintenance myself. It is a badass Truck...
I agree with Andy. Hooked up mine that way as well. Everything works. There are two things I don't like. First, the Tac light comes on as soon as you start the truck. I pulled the hot from the blower switch which was in the instructions. Second, I grounded it to the ground post on the oil...
Quietest with the doors off for sure. I was going to add hard doors, but I like driving her with no doors which takes about a minute with soft-doors when it come to removing them. If I ever find that sought after Slant-back, now that would be a different story. Just my .02
Thanks for all the help! I'm looking at the Katz block heater. How does it connect to the block? No need to punch out a freeze plug I hope? Thanks again!
Hello All. I live in the Northeast. My 1997 F-250 Powerstroke plugs into an electrical outlet to warm the oil and help get her started in the cold months. I could not find anything like this on my M988. I think the TM stated there is no such option on the HUMVEE. Is that the case? Will my buggy...
Hello All,
I need two tires taken off my rims and two put back on with run-flats and balancing. I'm near Philly PA. I really do not want to do this one myself. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance!!!!
