Ebay find.
It's that "thing a ma jig" attached to our injection pump that takes vacuum pump output, modifies it based on throttle position, and sends a vacuum signal to the modulator on the transmission.
Really made a big difference.
Shifts like a new truck.
Odd...
Yep, I have that pan on the turbo 350 under my 76 K5.
Any mud running at all and at least a few of the tubes are plugged up.
I have no idea if it aids cooling or not.
Came with the truck.
Looks cool.
Yeppers, my 1986 M1009 has the turbo 400 transmission with the drain plug in the pan too. Also a giant magnet inside the pan but I think that is stock just like the NP208 transfer case.
However, the drain plug is useful for draining the fluid; I always recommend removing the pan and doing a...
4 wheel Low range.
Air 'em down to 10 psi or less.
Lock up the brakes when they say "GO!" and just let the Dodge spin his tires trying to pull you.
Then while he is spinning them, let off the brake a little and slowly give it some gas.
You'll pull him like he's parked on ice.
In this case, it was moving that front battery from it's stock location back to reside parallel to the rear battery.
The slope of the hood clears the rear battery by inches but was nearly in contact with the front battery terminal.
I bought the truck in Oregon and drove it home to Wyoming.
But I...
I dodged a bullet and solved a mystery today.
Last night while I was wheeling my M1009 with the new 3.73 gear ratio, I noticed the headlights flicker at random times.
I got out and began to check grounds and connections.
Still, a flicker every once in a while.
"I'll have to check that out...
He's sleeping.
He's not sleeping he's dead!
Nah, he's pining for the fjords.
(dead parrot sketch- Monty Python)
Of course, the 6.2 is so efficient, it may take a while.

Funny post ^
Here in Wyoming I am lucky to get Glenn Beck or Micheal Savage.. don't really like the former and can tolerate the latter.
Maybe a few country songs come through my 42 year old single sun baked speaker in my 76 K5.
Don't even have radio in my M1009.
I am just...
Here is going to be a minor issue for you;
Your glow plug thermistor (temperature dependent resistor) that tells your glow plug card how warm or cold the engine is, well that thermistor resides in the rear block off plate on the drivers side head.
When you install the HMMWV kit onto an M1009 you...
Somehow I just know I will get called out for having loose wires and lines.. I know!
Getting to it!
After seeing Tinstar's engine bay.. I feel rather guilty about mine.
Here is how it is installed on my 1986 M1009 with an HMMWV crossover I added.
On the left is the supply to the heater core (the heater core return goes into the passenger side tank of my radiator).
Next from left is the thermistor for my glow plug card.
Middle aimed downward and not visible is...
Wow.
Speechless.
I am still using the AM radio with one speaker that came in my 1976 K5.
Yeah.
I have no clue how to help with that..
2000 watts?!
Dude.
Now you have eliminated the flasher pots.
Still sounds like a grounding issue.
Anyway you can run a redundant ground wire from the battery directly to the socket in question?
Maybe just along side the truck even, just to absolutely rule out a ground issue.
There may be dirt in the trailer...
Power (watts)= I (amps) X V (Volts).
Doubling the voltage halves the current required to produce a given amount of watts.
That being said, a stereo, even a large one, can be run off a single battery just fine.
The kids do it all the time in their rice burners.
In your case, cucv, just use the...
No.
Diesels have a wide open intake manifold.
The only thing the injection pump does is inject fuel in different quantities dependent on throttle inputs via the cable at variable injection timing dependent upon engine speed.
It is all mechanical and not very sophisticated.
But dead simple...
That is what I thought when we bought it 3 years ago.
I am the maintenance guy here at the lodge.
This 267 skid steer must have been used to move road salt at one time.
The first winter, while moving snow, the hydraulic fittings (not the rubber lines) blew out one by one so I finally changed...
