Yep, middle of the state up northern end.
We are 11 miles from the Montana Border.
It is like a big plateau up here with most of the range at 9,000 ft.
My co-worker just shot his Bull Elk.
I am waiting for Emily to get up here and man the front desk so I can go help him pack it out.
I better get...
48 and I live in the mountains, in Wyoming, in a 13 foot camper.
Got my guns, a snowmobile, and 2 Chevy Blazers.
I've had a pretty good run up till now.
If I died tomorrow, I couldn't complain.
Life is good.
Just bought a Gallon of Optilube winter from their website.
http://opti-lube.com/diesel-fuel-improver/winter-blend-diesel-fuel-improver.html
#1 To prevent gelling up here when we get those 40 below days.
#2 For lubricity improvement
It was $69.62 delivered for 1 gallon.
1 gallon treats 512...
Are you talking about the driveshaft?
If so; they are identified by the type of yoke, style and series of u-joint, center support bearing if applicable, and length.
Your best bet is to measure from a known vehicle with that combination and match those measurements to the cores in the field...
I wish i could go to this event.
I remember Rausch creek while hiking the Appalachian Trail.
There was a cool water conditioning station where they had part of the creek running through alkaline rocks or something.
Let me find that picture..
Sounds like fun!
I hate to say this but if you are getting bubbles from a cold engine, you may have a head gasket leak.
Let it cool completely and pop the radiator cap.
Start it up and observe the opening of the radiator.
A lot of air coming out meaning combustion gasses are getting past the head gasket (or...
Here is a M1009 with the stock resistor pack installed.
Starting at 40 degrees F.
https://youtu.be/20gYOJJMUG8
Hear the click!
It was not that loud before I put the resistor pack back in.
Yes, I simply bolted the resistors CUCVRUS gave me, to the firewall in the stock location and attached the...
What I am noticing after restoring the glow plug resistor pack is louder glow plug solenoid engagement and more noticeable solenoid engagement during afterglow.
When the gp resistor is deleted the solenoid is is getting the power to engage from the same 12 volt battery that supplies the glow...
Why not just use an actual lubricity additive like Optilube that is proven (even a thread on this site someplace) to have real benefits?
Seems random to just use ATF.
I know an oldtimer mechanic that used it to prime new fuel filters for diesels to prevent an airlock and supposedly clean things...
Yep.
I just installed a resistor pack to convert my M1009 BACK to stock.
Had this exact experience yesterday.
Suddenly, without any changes to the GP system other than putting the stock resistors back in, my GP system has afterglow a few times that it did not before.
Yep, the GP card should not...
Sometimes I try and outsmart myself.
Miss the obvious.
The 3.73 gears and 33 inch tires are just ideal for my situation up here.
The 6.2 torque seems peak right where I need it now on the grade.
#1 and #2 Diesel contain 15ppm of Sulphur.
There is absolutely no difference in Sulphur content between them.
The only difference is the paraffin content.
I just bought and had delivered 2,000 gallons of diesel for our winter operations here.
504 gallons of it was #1
1,496 gallons of it was #2...
I ended up swapping the axles with my 1976 K5 blazer instead.
Summit cancelled the order so I saved the 2 grand.
Now my M1009 has a 12 bolt rear that I already built with 3.73 gears, a Powertrax No-slip locker, new bearings and seals, and Yukon alloy axle shafts.
The front axle is a Dana 44...
Reinstalled the glow plug resistor pack (Thanks, CUCVRUS) so my system is stock.
Truck starts even better.
Like instantly firing instead of turning over twice.
Not a huge difference.. but there is a difference.
Replaced the vacuum transducer on the injection pump.
Had found one on ebay that was...
Why would you want to add ATF to your diesel fuel?
It works well as a clean way to fill a fresh fuel filter (provided the atf containers are new and unopened).
Just curious why you want to add ATF specifically or is it just to burn it up?
