My 84 K5 had that one in it.
I like the "no seat" stencil.
They are nice for holding your bee.. uh coffee.
Seriously, had a local pull up in a newer truck to ask me if I had seen any elk.
My M1009 idling away next to this newer ford duramax Cummins whatchmacallit shiny thing.
The dude casually...
Trucks here in Wyoming, and I mean any truck in decent shape, goes for a premium.
It is the little cars that are cheap.
Out in California when I visit my Dad, I am surprised to see trucks for sale so cheap and little cars are at a premium.
Someone could make a living bringing all those old...
It looks really nice in there.
Some of the early 70's K5 consoles had square holes for a pack of cigarettes I guess, but no cup holders.
The 80's K5 consoles crack easily around the hinges but usually stay together well enough.
But what you have there looks like a quality piece.
I have console...
I can't get over how hilarious it is to see your avatar!
"When the Marines need parts.. they call him".
Seriously, the previous owner installed an ammo box between the front seats of my M1009.
Sorry, but it was one of the first things I took out because it shook like a leaf all the way back...
I snapped up a New, in the box, DATCON made in U.S.A. 24 volt voltmeter.
Heavy duty series 831.
ebay again.
$20.95 plus $4.75 shipping.
The orbit of the Earth is corrected with this purchase and subsequent replacement of my inaccurate voltmeter.
Probably add another 40 horsepower to my 6.2.
Well you dont want bigger than stock tires then.
Make sure your tires are aired up.
Check that your swaybar isnt missing.
I swapped springs from a 76 k5 onto my 86 m1009 no problems.
33x10.5 15 on 15x8 steel rims on a stick height M1009.
Gave me an excuse to show off my rig this morning.
Yes, the most beautiful and capable vehi.. okay.. i'll stop.
You don't need a lift for 33" tires.
Add a leaf, sure.
A lift is going to do nothing for getting around in the snow.
What will stop you is high centering your transfer case or axle housings on a drift.
Bigger tires helps that.
Any lift is just raising the body of the vehicle; add a leaf, new...
OOO.. RPM gauge.
You know, this website is tough on my wallet.
Well I did the following because I like wrenching and I am never "that guy" stuck on the side of the road.. I am the guy with the tools helping "that guy".
Replaced broken front hubs on ride home after purchase.
Changed all...
The relay clicks under the dash but does the solenoid on the starter click?
If you can get a helper, take your volt meter down under the truck and check for voltage at the small terminal on the starter solenoid while the key is turned to the start position.
A set of experiments you can do by...
Why not?
I already invested 2 grand in repairs and upgrades into my M1009, might as well get a voltmeter that reads accurate.
Yea, the mechanical oil pressure gauge is fun.
The difference between cold and hot oil bleed off after shut down is astonishing.
I still find it odd the Cucv's have...
Are your battery terminals clean and tight?
When you say one click then nothing, does everything lose power after the click?
If you turn the key to start several times, does it click each time?
I would start by measuring voltage at the small terminal on the starter solenoid itself while the key...
I am that way too but about oil pressure and temperature.
My M1009 has the 24 volt meter without the resistor and it reads 2 volts high according to my Fluke multimeter.
Now see what you did?!
Now it is gonna bother me that my voltmeter is off!
Oh ebay...

Use the stock replacement springs CUCVRUS mentioned elsewhere to boost height just a little OR..
Stick with a 2.5" lift and you won't need to modify the rear driveshaft and it...
You may still have a "water in fuel" sensor.
I was just relating my case where the spin on filter housing does not have a provision for the sensor (which would need to be mounted on the bottom of the filter) so the previous owner just taped up the sensor wire and therefore I have no water in...
If your fuel filter has been swapped to a spin on style, you may have lost your "water in fuel" sender.
The wire is dangling where the previous owner swapped my filter assembly out.
You can reach most of the bulb sockets from under the dash but you need to be a contortionist.
Best to remove the...
