Yes and No. Jim is the primary sponsor of the event, and he will be at the rally quite a bit. If you know Jim, you know that sometimes he is hard to track down. A few years ago there were several of us that went to his place for parts and such. If there is enough interest, then we could probably...
Yeah I am now thinking about adding a separate switch to kill power to that valve and keep the fan on, might be worthwhile for towing, hill country, etc.
I had a slight issue on the way home. The air valve solenoid for the fan clutch kept messing up and the fan would not engage, so the truck would start running hot. I pulled over a couple times and the valve would start working but at the third time it did that I opened the kick panel and...
Planning to head that way sometime late morning and be there about lunchtime. I spent today getting my truck ready and doing a little maintenance. If anyone needs me to bring anything just shoot me a PM and I'll give you my mobile #.
No fire rings, but you DO need one if you plan to have a fire. Might need to be elevated at that. There will be at least one over by the MKT area where folks will congregate.
Want to buy:

- Antenna masts: crank up, launcher style, or manpack
- MEP-831A, maybe
- LMTV/FMTV Driver's side antenna mount
For Sale:
- OE-254 antenna setup, complete, great condition, $300. Thought I would use it and have never put it up.
Planning to be there again this year. Really glad to hear the BBQ convoy will be on again, and Garbee will be there with the MKT! Riding the Huey was awesome last year. Watching the Cobra take off that first time made me reeeallly think about spending the $ for a ride in it.
I would probably just replace the piggyback assembly if the emergency brake side went bad. You could have an accident even doing the service side, but the emergency park spring is completely contained in the rear piggyback section so it's safer than trying to replace the diaphragm on the...
I'm using a Harris RF 390 which has the diplexer built in, so only one coax hookup on the bottom of the base. It may have slightly high SWR on 2 meter since my Icom ID-800h would cut the power back to mid (15w). No problems on 70cm band though. I haven't tried putting it on an analyzer to see...
I replaced the service side diaphragm and not the park/emergency side. The park/emergency side canister remains together, with the spring caged for the service side replacement.
I'd be curious to see if this fixes it too. I have tried using a ham radio in mine and had a noise problem as well. I haven't taken the time to troubleshoot it, but like you guys said I would start with the grounds. Since you've already done that maybe it's something like that wire being...
The helicopters were awesome. At one point Saturday the choppers were flying over, people were ripping through blanks in the mini gun, and the train was running around the park...all at once. I rode the Huey twice and I have to say it was awesome! Maybe next year I'll spring for the Cobra ride...
