The last 7 ot 8 trucks ive purchased have the USMC painted over…this is a new demil requirement, and yes…there will be times that It was over looked, same as the armor removal removal requirement.
buy the current issue OEM roof pads and use all the Proper OEM retainers and it will be fine for the next 15yrs or longer.
I’ve done many ceilings, it’s labor tedious but not hard, the new pads have adhesive already applied
Buying a HMMWV and expecting to convert it to an H1 is like buying a house next to an Airport and expecting not to hear Airplanes taking off and landing…it’s a lesson in futility at the very least and second, it’s an assault on your wallet.
You cannot get quality paint out of a spray can…it’s impossible due to what it takes to get it to shoot through the spray tip.
UV plays havoc on cheap paint from a spray can in very short order.
The harness connections are OEM like all GM connectors for the transmission, A tech with proper tools can connect inline and perform diagnostics both ways while in monitor mode or control the transmission altogether.
Are you waiting on something before you just spend a few extra bucks and replace the TPS?
also, to Set and adjust the TPS, you rotate the throttle linkage At the Injection pump.
I also wouldnt use a transmission shop that doesn’t know how to adjust a TPS on a 90’s GM product, that’s pretty sad...
you have to pull the radiator stack anyway to pull the motor, so get the stack removed and pull the front of the motor and perform as much of an
RCA as possible, you can run the motor with the stack removed if you loop the trans and eng oil hoses…
thats a broad question, as we build, sell and install turrets monthly on this platform…
yes, the TM is confusing on this. But the short answer is, you can install any hmmwv turret version into an an M1151 as long as
you have the proper Slewing ring in the roof hole…there are 2 versions of the...
I’ve bypassed the oil cooler many times, I had trucks on base that had leaks, I went To a fittings shop and was able to get a threaded adapter to connect both oil cooler ends and truck was operational Till the new cooler was installed…I still use them today in my shop to run engines when the...
It’s common for the diaphragm to fail, as long as no air is in the system, the injection pump will act as a lift pump, as soon as the
water separator is opened though, your done.
I tell my customers, don’t ever check your water separator unless your prepared to be stranded, I’ve had more than...
You can have the best kit on the market, it’s the guy doing the work that makes all the difference, that and knowing how to apply the various upgrades and fixes to the transmission while it’s apart, that’s why I send all my transmissions out to a company here locally
that black stuff is clutch plate and overheated transmission fluid…you can’t bring a transmission back from that.
That transmission is made for that truck, there are millions in circulation behind this same engine.
The diesel application uses a torque converter specifically for diesel engines...
just remove the shield…not needed, some pipes have them, some don‘t, it’s even the same case on the turbo down pipe, some have it, some don’t.
The TM does call for 2 different part numbers based on if it’s a 6.2 or 6.5, I just use any of them.
