What have you done to your HMMWV today/lately

Not my humvee, came out of one I was working on. Military alt failed, swapped in civi alt, test run civi was not charging batteries so trouble shooting found bad start box and 7 out of 8 glow plugs bad. Put good start box in and alt was charging as it should. She put up a good fight.

    Humvee cooling issue

Latest update, went on 20 mile test drive, speeds up to 55, temp never went above the little "flag" (temp symbol) on gauge, fan kicked on and off normally. Very happy now. Action I owe you a case of your favorite beverage :)

Thank you, I figured $50 in product was worth it vs $500 for new shroud.

    Humvee cooling issue

DING DING DING Action wins with the wrong fan comment. I compared my 1152 6.5 TD to my 998 6.5 NA my 998 and my 1152 have the same fan installed. The 1152 has the 6.5 TD with surp belt and if I understand correctly the water pump turns the other way so fan blades should be opposite. The USMC...

    Humvee cooling issue

Oil looks good, not milky, oil fill cap is clean, no white smoke out exhaust, no blow by (that I can see), runs good, sounds good, just overheats.

I have tried the original thermostat (it was bad), tried civi thermostat that I tested before install (later removed), currently installed is an OEM thermostat. I am leaning toward new radiator, can I have a leaking head gasket and it not show...

    Humvee cooling issue

Thanks all, next is pull the radiator, I found a shop that sounds good for cleaning out radiator, I’ll go by and talk to them and make sure that can do it. I plan on putting Fleet antifreeze in after I get it working. I tried the radiator cap off my M998 and no difference, still gets hot...

    Humvee cooling issue

Old coolant looked light green, in my post #1 i mentioned I did an eng block test, that was for exhaust gasses in the coolant system, the test liquid remained blue, Just to test the liquid I placed it in the exhaust and pumped the bulb, the blue turned greenish yellow. I do get some bubbles...

    Humvee cooling issue

I took the original thermostat out and it still heated up, tested original thermostat, bad, I installed a civi thermostat and it heated up so I then installed an OEM thermostat same issue, I removed the upper hose and started engine to check flow, granted I do not know what normal flow looks...

    Humvee cooling issue

Need help figuring this out, my 2006 M1152ECV 6.5 Turbo gets hot when I drive, sitting in drive way I can let her run for hours no issue. M1152 brake light switch

Anybody have this before ? The brake light switch in my M1152 (left side) gets really hot. I don't see a test procedure for the switch in the tm's, I can't imagine it's supposed to get hot. Also I believe the right side is brake light what is the left side ? I think I remember reading it has...
