Just fyi, we use mineral spirits in our clean tank, so even w/o a tank, might want to try mineral spirits and some brushes. It cuts through pretty good. And so does that Industrial Purple from Home Depot. It is in a bluish/purplish 1 gallon with a chain on it. If you are in an enclosed space, I...
Need help in SoCal
That's way cool of Cucvfreek/cucvnut. If any of you SS guys are ever out here in SoCal and need help, no matter what hour it is, I am more than willing to leave the house and do what needs to be done. PM me if you want my phone number.

Hey guys,
My M1009 has a switch under the hood located between the two batteries. This was straight from the SeaBees. However, when switched off, I have zero power throughout the entirety of the truck. I assumed this was normal trim on these, but I guess not. I will look tomorrow to see how it...
Hey SS,
I am running 2 fuse blocks (the Blue Sea ones here Amazon.com: 5026 ST Blade Fuse Block w/ Cover: Sports & Outdoors)
One will be powered all the time but the other one is the one in question. I want to have it be turned on by ignition. I will be running 4 gauge wire from the battery...

Sorry, miscommunication. I read/understood that, but I was asking about the "31" that was on mine for apparently a very long time. Why would the Navy have "31" instead of "03" or "04"?

Ok, one question. My M1009 came with the "C" on top and "31" on the numbers. And one could tell by sunfading that they had been that way for a long long time.
I read this whole thread, but from what I understand it should have been "03" or "04".
Ideas? It was a SeaBee from Port Hueneme, CA...
Still,
That's really cool. What gov agency had those, or was it just any/all agencys that bought them. I can not recall ever seeing one and I've always been a FORD guy.
(Or if I did I did not realize it was Gov)
Hey SS,
I noticed most M1009s have TP/35 or TP/40. Mine had TP/45. It was a SeeBea, Port Hueneme, CA.
Did the military change the TP paint whenever tires were changed and painted accordingly, or was the vehicle intended to carry more weight? )Probably not w/ a Blazer, but...)
Ideas...
colelkhunter,
Nice truck! I searched all your posts, but could not find any details or additional photos of that truck. Am I searching correctly? I went under your name to your posts....
Anyways, do you have a build thread or more photos? I really want some visualance. (Idk if that's a real...
