After careful consideration, I am prepared to offer $501.99 for this LARC.
If you seriously cannot handle sarcasm, might I suggest the newspaper classifieds, where every two-bit offer is serious. Gimpy was hardly trying to offend you.
Perhaps you are experiencing your own stressful times. If...
I think it would suit just fine. The Curt 14082 model hitch is a direct bolt-on (you'll have to drill the frame for bolting, but it's the proper width), and it has a 12,000 lbs rating. If you're going to run electric brakes, you'd need a way to wire in 12 volts, so figure a DC-DC converter of...
Lonesome715 has one of them, apparently very closely related to the CUCV running gear (minus axles).

I have seen Bill's truck in person, and it looks really good with the 12.5's
They fit the stock wheel quite well, but look better than singled-out NDCC's. Plus, all your instrumentation is the same because the rolling diameter is the same.
A good choice, but I think they're harder to come by...
Could it be towed with a SuperDuty F-250? Or is it too heavy unloaded to have no brakes? The trip would be mostly interstate.

I get a little weepage around the front of the block on mine, about like what you described. I've always made sure the oil doesn't have any coolant in it (never has), and the coolant never has any oil. No pressure in the coolant system beyond what's normal, so I know it's not a blown head...
Greetings! I noticed you're from the tri-cities as well.
There's a guy that has one, dunno if it's for sale, close to where I live in Mount Carmel. Do you know where Independence Ave is? It's close to where Independence and Tranbarger Road intersect.
Dang... between this and the bolster trailers on GL right now, I could have a MUCH more workable rig for what I've got in my deuce!
54reo, that's a MEAN looking wrecker!
I think I saw a 543A1/A2 sitting on US58 in VA...
The Air-O-Matic is nice - you have full manual steering in the event of air loss. However, you will NOT get the boost that a full hydraulic p/s system will give.
That being said, I can drive one-handed with my Air-O-Matic if I desire.
I plan on buying a 5-gallon container to stockpile used ATF to filter for fuel. Most places around here won't give you the stuff unless it's 5-gallons or less.
You "should" be able to run the batteries in series and parallel. However, for the 12 volt (parallel) side of it, you would need dedicated ground wires - i.e. you couldn't just ground to the frame.
I am experimenting with this in running wires for civvy trailer hookup. I will report upon...
I'd try to get those straps around something unsprung on the van, instead of trying to hold it in place like that.
If you try to hold it by compressing the suspension, you need to compress to the bumpstops, or you risk losing the vehicle.
By attaching to the axles or other components not...
You won't need lift blocks for really any tire combination, unless you're trying to rock crawl with a deuce (which you shouldn't). You'd most likely run into issues with clearance between the two rear axles before you'd have trouble with tire-to-body problems.
I'm planning on finishing my camper specifically in preparation for Haspin '09. In that event, I will have a functioning refrigerator, 4-burner stove and gas oven to help with the cooking. Also, a good buddy of mine is wanting to ride shotgun for the week.
So unless this thing turns out to be...
Cleared the cookies; I think the login failure/success thing was a fluke... it didn't do it this time.
Also, I've not had to log back in yet... *crosses fingers*
Keep up the good work guys.
