I got my ticket for Technician Class in June 2007. I own a VX-7R HT, and have all kinds of bands programmed into it. I like the VHF 2M band a lot, and frequent the 70cm/ 440 from time to time. My HT also hits 1.25M/ 220 and 6M. Not much going on in 6M, but it is much closer to Military VHF, so...
In Canada, No. I bought mine from a surplus vehicle dealer in Colorado.
The only place I know of is The link I posted above. Sung is a very knowledgeable guy. Just click on the yellow word Iltis, and you will be redirected.
I know there is a seller in Quebec, but I have heard horror stories...
Speak to Sung Yoon, at Iltis
I've bought plenty of parts from him, and he seems to know about shipping over the border.
Also, buy a DND 1/4 Ton M101 CDN2. There should be quite a few still around in Cananda, and they are the last of the light trailers. When they're gone, there will be nothing left.
All the 1/4 Ton trailers are capable of floating since they are solid steel tubs. They have two drain holes and plugs that can be closed when fording, or opened to allow draining.
The Canadian 1/4 Ton does not have the plugs that the US 1/4 Tons do.
Instead there are four small drain holes in...
So I bought some of the different color Dash Panel Lenses, to spruce up my duece.
I used Blue for my High Beams, and Amber for my Air Shift Front Axle engagement. They add a little bit of color to the all green interior.
Red looked cool instead of the Amber, but I already have the green...
Saturn Surplus has the shear pins for the winch. You'll need to buy some cotter pins to secure the pin in place. Saturn's pins are the correct Military aluminum part. USGI.
The cotters are 1/16 inch diameter x 3/4" long.
part # MS24665-134
As for your air tanks, do yourself a favor and also...

Thanks for the replies.
I agree that the red light is for low loss night vision operations.
I was thinking, that since the turn signal indicator is solid green, why not make my air shift front axle indicator solid red(which I already did), and make my high beam indicator solid blue. Just to...
I bought some of the Clear Red lenses recently from Frank's Surplus on eBay and want to also get about 6 or 8 of the clear blue lenses. He doesn't have them.
Does anyone have a good source for New, clear blue dash light lenses?
Nice thing about the clear red or blue is that you can paint the...
I agree with Jimm1009.
McMaster-Carr, is going to be your best source for hardware. Quick Shipping too. What I could not find from my hardware guy, I bought from McMaster-Carr, in stainless steel.
A lot of the hardware the military uses is Grade 5 Yellow Chromate.
If you buy Grade 5...
PLus +1.
John, do I hear another repro product coming from you?
LOL
Mine is missing too. I removed it when I was doing my resto job, and it also fell apart. I would like to replace it as well. Since you have a real GI one, I think you could maybe trace out a template, and make it out of a...
My truck came with two Driver's springer seats. I guess the driver, and the A-driver of the unit that was assigned this truck wanted a better ride.
Let me tell you, they really do feel okay!
That is a perfect Resto job. I am very jealous! I couldn't quite muster a complete frame off resto of my US M35A2, but I did manage to get my M101 CDN2 pretty close to factory. It also helped that my particular trailer was never issued, and didn't need quite so much.
LOL
Here are some pics.
