Quick, quick. You will get blasted by the moderators for not putting a city in your details! Hence all the interest by others above/below (depending on the way you have chosen to view the threads) in your location.
Oh yeah... and welcome!
So what are you used to.... Gas/Petrol and...
Thanks Jeff... I knew the second after I pressed "Submit reply" that I'd catch grief for saying/doing that!
I'm a not so much a tight wad as would rather repair something than replace it. Even when my time would be worth many times the replacement cost!
The plug wasn't that bad and being...
Captain Plenty Vise..
Kudos on the Jubilee clip (UK for 'hose clamp'), brilliant idea.
So, that vise, assuming you have a spare or it's the shop one on wheels.... But maybe you have a fancy demountable bracket for the bumperette???
Please shed some light on that little gem :?!
I'll...
Well, if you're interested, I did post in the classifieds - parts for sale, so let me know by PM if you might want one of them - chain clamps included. WA- Medium Towbar + feet
[Ron, I'm not sure if this posting goes against classified rules, it's really a cross reference to the classified...
Thanks Amram, I may have this covered, but still working on shipping quotes also trying to sell one of the towbars there locally so I'll only have to ship one.
I'll let you know in a day or so thanks.
I'd hazard a guess that the Ferret (heck, just the B60 alone!) weighs more than the Avalanche!, so Bad idea, especially as there'd be no "trailer" brakes.
My vote would be for a low profile, lightweight (but strong enough) trailer with electric brakes hooked to the car, so long as the weight...
As mentioned earlier, 'can you be over licenced?' .... Probably Not.
(Exception if true: - I have read here somewhere, someone said that 'under licenced' was less of a fine than under permitted with a CDL - can't remember the thread - towing heavy trailer or something)
Question is, even if...
Not sure what pics you are refering to - going by the MSN # and the scale of the chain clamps - they look pretty normal for medium ones to me.
There is also one on egay, same MSN # and it weighs 220 lbs.
Still need help.....
EDIT: Mike - are you close enough to assist?
Need two medium towbars on a pallet picking up from Joint Base Lewis-McChord.
Expected weight ~ 480 lbs, they have a few sets of feet loose on pallet too.
Once picked up, I can organise shipment.
I actually only need one of these towbars so would be willing to do a deal if anyone can help...
Bed box?
Jeff etc, hadn't noticed this before, but just saw this in a GL pic. Chequer plate box behind crane. Is this fixed (purpose?) or is this something just dropped there..
..... Any ideas?
Would be a nice addition for the 816. ;-)
EDIT: found another pic on GL. I guess it covers...
Great - let me know when you find out.
Shame I just noticed this post - I was in New Bern last weekend! However, have a sister in law in Havelock so prob won't need shipping... Can do the family shuffle up the east coast!
Not quite. This is ignorance on behalf of the LEO - who is not up to speed on DoT regs.
Any one with a wrecker endorcement or oversize CDL should know that rotating beacons/strobes are only legal on a moving vehicle if it is slow (< 40 in a 55) or excessively over width (just overwidth needs...
Nothing wrong with your work from my perspective, quite impressive. I'm not sure that wheels aren't made with a flat taper either.
However I would have dimentioned the lug nut and not the height of the fitted lugnut, which will change subject to torque and wear of the hole as the nut seats in...
Yes I did but went straight to PM...
I'll go back and do this - the e-mail option... BUT if he selected that his e-mail address be private.... I'll return to my original question.
Thanks
EDIT:
Just went back and did the e-mail option. Thanks DH. Let's hope it doesn't get bounced...
