Quite often the control box on my wrecker provides a no start even when its NOT running!
I have thought about removing them out of the system--------- WITH A SLEDGE HAMMER!!
I have been able to make it work a couple of times by knocking the tar out of it with a slightly smaller hammer...
I have yet to see an air dryer on Military Vehicles.
I have not been around the newer stuff but all the old stuff do not.
Im sure there is exceptions but i have not laid eyes on them.
A dryer is easy to mount up on any truck.
overdrive trannys normally have high gear forward on the stick.
your M818 will prob be overdrive.
and that will put high gear (overdrive) forward towards the dash.
the direct trannys have a standard (normal) pattern.
forgot to respond to your question.
a good 2 hrs to do it rite with cleaning and repacking the wheel bearings.
and cleaning everything else there.
check axle for groove where seal runs.
pics of the last time i was into one.
inside the tube is where the seal lives.
it has a retainer that really fits snug.
a slide hammer pops it out easy.
No container --------- yet!
the trl is in good shape.
we are running up I75 to 23 then up the middle.
thanks for the offer of help tho.
that same offer of assistance is allways on the table for anyone running up thru Northern MI.
the inside mount makes a huge difference with the output of the heater.
Its raising the temp of warmer air instead of allways trying to heat cold air.
very big difference!
it gets cold here and i use the low setting on the blower alot.
one draw back on my instalation is if the blower...
Or strip the diverter box apart and flip it.
I dont know if i can get enough light in the barn to get a picture for you but on my M819 (PC2) I installed the heater unit under the dash inside.
to cold rite now but a little later today i will try to snap a pic for you.
What you paid for it doesn't matter.
It's a very unique unit.
you have the patience of Job! thats one heck of a long time to wait for anything!
I hope to see it one day. or better yet run with it in a convoy. your not that far away from me.
glad you got it and are saving it...
you guys really took a beating out there with that storm!
by the time it got here it was pretty weak. lots of wind but mostly rain.
I am kinda surprized that it got hung being loaded.
is that a lift axel i see? if so that didnt help.
I ran accross several conversion set ups done by memphis and they all had the cans hanging very low.
thats not a problem if the unit does mostly hard surface driving.
