    M1009 axles under a M1008

As you can see the rear is a 8 lug 14 bolt cover. Also not centered (though it was a 12 in the dark) correctly at all!! Front looks like a Dana 44 from what I see. 3 bolt steering arm like the stock m1009 axles. But it also has 8 lugs. I have not one clue on ratios.

    M1009 axles under a M1008

Someone removed the stock axles and installed a 44 in the front and a 12 bolt in the rear and it may not be GM. It's a weld job hack. Are the 1 ton frames different? Just trying to figure out why the springs are different widths.

    M1009 axles under a M1008

Well moving mounts is no big deal. I was just reading so much conflicting info. As of axles the truck came with 3/4 ton Dana 44 and a 12 bolt in the rear This is going to be a highway truck with 265/75/16 tires and a 2 inch lift. No hard core wheeling or heavy duty towing. I got a set if axles...

    M1009 axles under a M1008

Hey peoples. I just bought my second M1008 and I am getting a set of M1009 axles this week for it. I am making it a DD with 90% highway miles. I see some people stating that the axle perches are different in the rear and some people say it's a direct bolt in swap less the conversion u joint...

    M1008 Transmission?

I would dump the fluid and slam in a new filter and fresh fluid and a can of good trans seal stop leak. The stop leak will soften the seals and might get her back in to shape. When it is butt cold out I let my trucks run at least 20 min if all possible. Seals dont do well at negative temps...

    CUCV towing issue

The cucv is a lot like a deuce in the power department. They will pull a house at 30 miler per hour. I have had a few cucv's and civy trucks with the 6.2 diesel. Great off line low torque but over 30 miles per hour and they start to fall on there face. It is what it is. You can get the best...

    M1008...needs some love

Yes it will run. You can use the 6.2 pump with the 6.5 and turbo also. Just adjust the fuel settings. Google or better yet you tube search. The adjustment is eZ to do.

    2-2.5 lift question

Shocks do not lift a truck. Even had charged won't lift a truck . You can do a 2 inch lift just with add a leafs front and rear. I ran 36 hummer bias tires on a stock 08 with no lift.

    1984 M1009 - New to me.

Look in the wiki for the doghead relay change. It replaces the weak starter relay that likes to stick and start things on fire.

    1984 M1009 - New to me.

Towing .. Same as any full size blazer. I would not want to tow a car trailer loaded with a short wheel base truck but people do it. Gen light out means it's not working.... Test them with a volt meter. And I don't know what your truck needs. If you can't tell or don't know how to do pmcs take...

    1984 M1009 - New to me.

You don't need another heater. I live in WI and have never had to add a heater to any of my blazers. Keep it plugged in at night and she warms right up. To get a RTS radio tour looking at 500 for a dummy and 900 for a working unit. Weather strip is same as any blazer of the year. It's a...
