Could we start a sticky for parts reference? Like the one we have for the M35? There are alot of posts asking about part numbers and it might help guys find what they need a lot faster than digging through manuals and cross referencing numbers. It could also save us money by allowing us to...
Sounds like a faulty injector or injectors. "Leaking and not spraying" I realize you changed them but they can fail. What brand did you use? There are a lot out there made in India that don't hold up very long.
5/8 socket and box wrench for the bottom bolts. 9/16 for the top and the stupid hyd line on the fan. A 1/2 drive breaker bar to hold tension wile tightening the bolts.
The CUCV trans cooler is on the hot side of the rad. If the water coming from the engine is 195 then the best you can hope for is 195 trans temp. If you want a lower temp add your cooler after the rad cooler. The trans cooler on the Humvee is not plumbed in to the rad. But it is huge. If you...
Welcome! Its good to hear you got your old truck back. Dog head is correct. All parts are tor a 1884 model. Is yours stripped where you can't drain the fuel? Or you can't close the valve? Id bet some one on here has a few laying around that you could get from them. We get parts from each other...
Original equipment on the early 6.2's was a Robert Shaw 370-180 thermostat. Every early Civi 6.2 I had, had one. My 82 GMC K2500 came with one and a 7 blade 20 inch fan. It's the EPA forcing engines to run hotter. I can totaly understand someone in a cooler climate running a 195. In Texas...
You are correct. In stock configuration the trans cooler is routed into the drivers side "HOT" side of the rad. If you are running the stock 195 deg thermostat the best you could hope for is 195. If you are towing/hauling and the engine is getting hotter, then the tranny will also. This is why...
Just in case some one searches this in the future, If the engine is locked up, Pull the crank pulley and the harmonic balancer. The torque converter should then clear the input shaft on the tranny. Before the engine hits the cross member. This is for a 3 speed.
Check the thermostat first. Also maybe the heater core is clogged and not moving much coolant through it. Also make sure the door in the heater box is closing all the way and not letting cold fresh air in to the cab.
IMHO If you pull them I would replace them. I realize they are expensive for small rubber hose. But they can be brittle and just break no matter what. That tools looks cool but I would think it might not work on the passenger side. The engine is pretty close to the body there. Along with that...
