Yah..Ive talked to a few pilots out here that fly them, and a few of the "ground car" guys...Ive asked em if I could go along sometime with them in those fancy gov't corvettes...what an awesome ride that would be...hauling butt down the runway just under and behind a U-2 talking him down..would...
Just stating a curiosity of mine...not trying to be a smartazz here, but if you use that port as a "preluber" , what are you prelubing? the engine? 'Cuz wouldnt that kind of defeat the purpose if the engine has to be running for you to get oil for a preluber?
I might not have a good grasp on...
Awesome pic! The CH-47 is my all time favorite chopper. Ive flown in them several times while in the Army, and even hooked some slings to the bottom of it. Quite a rush that is. When I re-up'ed in '02, They landed one near my motorpool, took me and 12 of my buddys bout 100 miles south of FTW...
I always like Bonanza aircraft...although they always seemed more expensive then I could afford (when I was pricing out my own flying contraptions). I know the Raptor has a pretty significant angle for those vertical stabilizers but they are not true V tails..they do have horizontal stabs and...
...you know, I actually wondered what that is. I think Ill ask what it is tomorrow. Ill post what it is...if Im allowed [thumbzup]
...if I were to venture a guess, I'd say canopy ejection explosive...could be wrong but its only a guess.
lol..Im not a zoomie :-P I just work with them. But Ive always been into planes. And to be fair...this wasnt just "seeing" one lol. That there F-22 is the YF version...the prototype and is alot different then the newer ones. Their shape is even different too. Ive seen that one back when it was...
So, the other day I got a rare opportunity. At least it seems rare to me anyway lol...I got to sit in a F-22 Raptor AND have my picture taken in it. This Raptor is one of the first few made. Its line # 91-4006 and was the 6th one delivered to EAFB for flight testing back in the mid 90's. It...
Which ones are "flex nuts" ? Is this like a certain type of nut, say for example like a castlated hex nut, or self locking nuts? Because as far as I've noticed, most of the nuts and bolts on my deuce are just plain old grade 5 or grade 8, depending on location, load, torque etc...
So...I work with and around uniformed military personell and today, our shop lead tells me:
"hey, you know those jumper cables we have? yah we are not allowed to issue those out anymore because aparently someone (military) hooked them up backwards and blew a battery up...so we ordered digital...
couple of me and my 915a3 and one in action near the tigris river pontoon bridge a few miles from Balad airbase.
EDIT: found a pic of us crossing that pontoon bridge...note: the wind jammers on the trucks in the last pic were removed bout half way through the deployment. the first three are...
04 pics... the HMMWV is a 998 pickup...the only armor for the gunner was 1" ceramic blast plats down the sides like side stakes...standing up and firing left you totally exposed....
..oh and the SAW's on the roof were not mounted nor did they stay there...just there for pics lol...although had...
Not that Im biased towards F-22's in any way (even though I can open the door 10 feet to my left and see one about 100 feet away) But from what I hear is the F-35 isnt doing so great on the whole....It doesnt come close to the maneuvering capabilities of the Raptor and is costing way more then...
So...I have a question for Driver523 or minigunner64th...I know i can just as easily email either of you, but I figured id give a little bump here. Can either of you tell me what the mounts for "animals" for the M-60's were? Also, what type of cradle did the single '50 configuration ride on? I...
...Am i missing something here? 2 replies from DH on a mechanical question thread, and not once did he mention the TMs....Im scared. LOL.
But to keep on track here...as stated above, it does sound like an internal leak in the AP...start there...then do what DH suggested and go through the...
Welcome to the madness!
Read up on those Technical manuals (TM's) and always remember that safety is PARAMOUNT. These type trucks are not toys and can do some serious damage to you and those around you so....play nice and enjoy the ride! :driver:
Smoke....somewheres in between where the Mojave desert and the San Jauquin Valley come together. I would just say it, but sometimes people who live 30 miles from here have never heard of it lol...
This was definitely not how I wanted to get my truck home, but sometimes you gotta do what you gotta do...within reason and safety of course. I am a trained professional, licensed and certified to do this sort of thing.
The height was very close...but it was legal...trust me, I checked...
