I pulled my M109 home from Barstow over 100 miles on a 5th wheel trailer behind a F-350 super duty. The trailer was a 20' +- dual axle dual tire equipment trailer rated for 20K pounds. It had really good brakes on it. Front to back GVCW was around 23K. If you were going to try it, I would...
Thats so cool lol [thumbzup] ...I woulda asked to sit in one...I tried like heck when I was in Iraq in '04 just to sit in one but none of the pilots ever let me...most i got was unit patches from the pilots flight suits. I was a water boy delivering 5K gallons at a time with a smifty bag on an...
The hanger next to our compound used to be a CV-22 squadron. They got moved a few years back but once in a while they have one or two come in and RON there so I get to see them pretty close. And they usually take off from one of the pads near here instead of going all the way out to the main...
...Hmmm you know that video game voice on FPS games that says "insta-kill" ? Looking at this picture, and if it were in my state, you would hear "insta-ticket" or "insta-impound" LOL
You can pull doubles here, only if the front trailer is a gooseneck or 5th wheel. No bumper to bumper..and...
Actually, I say bone yard but thats not what it really is. I say bone yard because these aircraft have been sitting here for years and will probably remain so for years to come. Its actually the storage yard for the Edwards AFB museum. They are storing these one of a kind, or note-worthy relics...
Just a couple of pics from a "bone yard" down the street from where i work. Managed to get in there one day and snap some pics. Some really neat stuff in there, but didn't get pics of all of it. Enjoy!
First five pics is 1 of only 2 prototype Piper PA-48 Enforcers ever built. Its a "take away"...
I got them from maddawg308. He could tell you where he got them from. They are just dummy replica's though...no moving parts. Im not sure what youy mean by "gas" though...
Well, I now have armament for "Animals" [thumbzup] I have (2) M-60 machine guns, and (1) M-2 .50 cal machine gun. 8-)
Thanks maddawg308! Pics forth coming. Now just to find proper mounting hardware.
Awesome pics and write up. I live near the edge of the Mojave desert....like a stones throw from the city of Mojave.
Also, just to clarify for people who have never been to the desert here, I beleive he is referring to the cactus type on the right of the pic and back ground...not the tall...
A thud would tell me its gonna be a solenoid of some sort...either the starter relay one on the right side of the motor behind the air cleaner or the solenoid on the starter itself. 2cents
my 2cents... Even though it looks like canvas in the illistration, it might in fact be just tinted thick plastic...but Ive never seen one so I will not confirm nor deny lol. If it is canvas, and labeled a "sunshade" maybe it was desinged in the desert storm era for when your parked and needed to...
LOL...its only topless so it'll fit in the garage. Its got the roof and stack on it now, but itll be going back under the gun here soon so Ill have to collapse her again.
Ive seen the hubs covered like that before. Not with whatever grease that is though....I dont think it would hurt anything but better safe then sorry right? lol.
I dig the dirty cobwebs you got there between your shoes. Adds character lol.
Id say get you a good torque wrench with a decent range of about 25-250 pound feet, A hub socket ( 3") and one of them geared lug wrenches. Other then that, Ive found so far that most things can be fixed with a decent craftsmen type tool kit. Small wire feed welder might come in handy once in a...
