74M35A2 has the heater switch box on the right.
I think his light assembly is corroded some or something.... it does not want to push in when it says on the front, "push to test". We tested the bulb and it tests good and worked for him in the past. Everything else in the control box looks...
Is there a safety switch that is activated when the truck is in low range to kill the engine if the truck goes in reverse while in low range? If so, could that switch be stuck so it does not know it is out ofnlownrange? Just a thought.
Good to know. I used kerosene with the unit in the back of my M109 and Iwondering if that is part of the reason that does not want to start. I noticed diesel works better for the manifold flame heater on my deuce. I have a separate tank for my manifold flame heater since I use WMO for engine...
I got my boots from Erik's too. I guess he said to keep degreasers away from them because that will weaken the boot. But how would that be possible with silicone? Mine were silicone and lasted just under a year. I dont go crazy off road where they should rip, so i don't understand it.
Will dyed diesel or dyed kerosene hurt these heaters? I know wick style lamps and heaters will not like the dyed fuel and it shortens wick life. Will that do the same to these units? I am just thinking if the vaporizer clogs up or goes bad, where do you get another? I would hate to keep working...
Good thread. I would like to know too because I ordered some, installed them and they ripped. They were silicone black ones and I was not happy. I had a theory that maybe the coloed boots (non standard black) were made by somebody else and may be made of better materials. Maybe the black ones...
You guys should see the one rear 9.00-20 tire on my Deuce. That thing has some cracks! It has its duals, tubes and about 35-40 pounds of air. I'm not worried because It is on the back and I know I will wear it out before it ever blows. I have had decent amount of experience with these 9.00-20's...
I bought an M1061A1 not long ago and I am excited to use it. I have not pulled it yet, but I guess they are heavy. I think I will be happy with it behind my Deuce. I just wont be in a hurry to go anywhere though. :-) That M345 trailer would make a nice addition to a 5 ton though.
I helped 74M35A2 work on this heater also. I have the smaller (I think the 30,000 BTU) unit in the back of my M109A3 of which I put a new wick in it, so I have a little bit of experience with them. He originally sent it back to Stewart Warner to have them troubleshoot it but they said it needed...
You probably have underwear older than those batteries!
I agree, new batteries. Check all your connections while you are at it. I want to say just check connections, but an 11 year old battery in something like that is very, very old.
There is a seal retainer on the axle. Im wondering if you did not seat that all the way, maybe the axle is binding between that seal retainer and spindle? That is my guess anyway.
I like the RAPCO paint a lot. It is easy to spray. I think you should try painting it yourself. Its not that bad to learn. Just prep the truck making sure rust flakes and things are how you want them before hand. Painting is easy, it is just the prep work that can take time. The great thing...
I use WMO/diesel/gasoline blend fuel in my Deuce. I have never had a water problem in the fuel system. The tank is almost always full, or at least 2/3 or higher. It rarely gets below half a tank, and if it does, it is only on a trip. When I get back home, I always fill the tank back up. I have...
