You are absolutely right. I was just in shoak because I thought I had this one in the bag. I thought people would like to hear how I lost the bet. Haha. I know the 809 series used it for the grid heater I believe. I will research it to make sure I lost the bet.... even though I think I did. It's...
74M35A2 was changing batteries in his M925A2 last night and there is a wire that goes to the 12 volt side of the batteries with the wire number 569. He bet me lunch that the 569 wire powered the low speed of the heater blower motor. Well sure enough he flipped the battery switch and the blower...
Well if it does not work, you didn't fail, you just know how not to build it. We all have been there before.
Another thought.... if you had a mechanical fan (no clutch fan), it would always be pulling fresh air into the engine compartment.
Are those not the same center differentials that are used in the 800 series 5 tons? I know the ratio is different, but the carrier is not the same? If they were, could you just change both carriers and have a different final drive ratio? I could be totally wrong on this, they just look similar.
My alternator has always worked fine even though it does not look the best. While I was working on it a while back, I noticed the exciter wire that supplies 24 volts to the alternator was about to break off. It was only holding by two strands or so. It is amazing it was still holding. That would...
This might help. I just found it and have not looked though it myself. I might just to see what I can learn, even though mine works good now.

I have an M35A3 dash in my M35A2, so I have the buzzer and a light. I have had one buzzer go bad on me and I want to drill out the rivets and take the cover off it to see what it looks like on the inside. I am picturing just a set of breaker points, similar how a horn works. I would be willing...
That is what I did, just bought a winch truck from the start. If you put the winch on yourself, make sure the backlash on the PTO is correct. This is set by the gasket thickness. The PTO backlash was a good point to bring up, glcaines.
I have one of those mounted on my M109A3 (multifuel). I never filled it with anything so I don't know how well they work. I thought about taking it off and putting it on my more driven M35A2, but I never have. I don't drive it much at all in the winter because of the salt. Only a little low...
I'm with you on this one. I researched it a lot before I put my head gaskets on and I decided to put them on dry. Mine seeps a little and if I was going to do it again, I would use that copper spray-a-gasket. I think it might help with the seepage.
Any updates a year later to say how this heater core is working? Is this core better heat than the original core? How did you prevent air from coming out of where the heater lines go in. A buddy of mine wants to put in this core and move the heater box inside. All along I think the heater core...
Personally, I don't like powder coat. It always seems to chip and flake off and rust from underneath. I would spray Rapco enamel paint all day and love the results. That is just me though. Nice looking truck!
Touching up is super easy with paint. either use a brush or mask off or use a touch up...
Having a dedicated 12 volt alternator to charge a dedicated 12 volt battery sure is nice. I did that on my Deuce except i have it charging 3 deep cycle batteries. You never have to worry about discharging the battery and not being able to start the vehicle. If my batteries went dead, I would...
