This is what the beacon mounts on a m1089 look like.
Some call the m1089 a rocket launcher, (my idiotic brother in law) and then some ask what those tubes behind the cab are.
Are you saying that this happens when an 3116 engine fails and breaks the flywheel?
my truck doesnt do it all the time . It happens 1 out of 3 times, id say.
I am not sure if going through the ground connectios will help.
But it sure will help something. I am cleaning the connection, add dimension by roughing th surface and then coat with dielectric grease.
I looked at the oil gauge a bit closer and it at first reads a steady readout and then starts...

Are you asking about the differences between the medium tow bar vs. Ibis? or Ibis vs. Oshcosh 88k tow bar? There are several different models and unless you tell us what models you are referring to, there aren't really any good answers...
This truck is a 1996 with 3116 engine.
I'll start at the battery and take off terminals and clean them. Then put on some Dielectric grease.
I agree with what you said about the TM's I couldn't find anything useful about intermittent stuff.
