As long as the sellers (the auction house) is persistand and willing to do the paperwork hassle and take care of the $$ for all the problems then I'd say your relatively ok with your purchase.
Yep, if your not on a deadline and just curious about something, this is the best way to learn something you did not know and it helps later on when someone does ask a question about something. You can remember seeing something about it and helping out with a link or 2
Just to help you understand why they are a bad idea on the road, not just that they are illegal, they are unsafe. On a relatively slow moving swamp buggy or even a monster truck you will see that those are opperated on a closed course. Because of the gearing in the rear end the pinion will be...
It wont be slow per-say, actually you'll gain a little top speed but it will take along time to get to top speed and the instant you hit an incline you'll know it.
If 11's are 43" and you go to 53's then thats like taking a jeep on stock tires and going straight to 37's without re-gearing...
Then dont call it "Multicam". Especialy if you decide to do it and use it for anything commercial.
Edit: also depending on how the trademark is written at may say "or any likeness"
No, the 5tons run just like deuces. You can get tractors, cargo beds, wreckers, and box trucks. a 5ton can run the big 53's (16.00x20) 6x6 stock but that will kill your power. The multifuel 5tons come with 11.00x20 tires stock. You wont see any multifuel 5tons coming out of Gov. surplus on...
With bigger tires, your trans may not last long if you start off in second gear. Starting off in second with stock 9.00's has been known to bust a few transmissions also. (but thats for another thread.)
Yes put your driveline back. With no driveshaft, the t-case sees the front flange not spinning and the sprague will engage. Wether that causes any harm I do not know, however in either deuce (sprague, or airshift) without freewheeling hubs up front all of your front front driveline parts will...
You can do that (make a sticky) but people will still miss it (and the 100 other threads on deathwobble) and start a new one just to ask how to fix it.
:ditto:
That used to happen to me alot until I started clicking the "remember me" box when I log in. (its right next to where you enter your username and password) Now I can be in the middle of a reply, walk away for coffee, then get told to get something done on the "honey-do" list, come...
You might need to check into some sort of raised area at the floor to keep loose items from rolling out. I have heard (but never confirmed) that it is the law in some states. You will also need side mirrors when going doorless. That is the law in most states. (Ask me how I know)
:ditto: BFH, not a ballpeen hammer, but a BFH and try to drive that sucker thru the bumper. (dont miss) and inbetween hits spray with PB blaster or your penetrant (sp?) of choice. The vibration from the hammer will allow the PB blaster to work its way in much faster.
Are these not the pictures from your other post?

And this is the drawing you posted, Upper right corner. Correct?

Juniper, just because something is rare does not mean its collectible/ valuable.
You may find that there are only 2 or 3 people in the world that want what you have. Not much demand when there are...
