My take is the least expensive way to clean oil is blend gasoline with motor oil let stand a couple weeks and pour off the bottom gallon out of a 5 gallon bucket. Second to pre settle then a oil pressure driven centrifuge. And the best is pre settle gravity feed heated oil though a motor driven...
I voted for T but if B wins guess we will be changing these tool names at some point. Just kidding a lot of crap out there.
Enjoy your new machine. Wonder how long it will be before it hatches another green machine.

Great idea. Never even thought about desiccant drying the air. Now to improve on your idea. With the concern of contamination with the fuel "off gassing" how about two check valves. Air in thru one check thru the desiccant filter, air out thru other check to atomsphere not filtered.

I'm not a MDOT inspector, but I'm under the impression that in Maryland if it's a dedicated special purpose machine (log splitter, cement mixer, air compressor) a generator trailer would be exempt. It appears to me the cops have more important things to look at. Now it you remove the generator...
I'm thinking engine oil pumps pump a lot of oil. Shouldn't need that much RPMs but just guessing. Do a mockup first.

Guy
Not to high jack this thread but, you have a lot of experience with the MEPs. If I would ask you what was your favorite to work on / repair and of course which is your least favorite. Also most and least reliable. Thanks

Is it a secret part? Most on the site are always interested in surplus stuff. Anyway did you check out the satellite pictures of the Barstow military yard. I'm impressed enough to put barstow on my bucket list. Live in Maryland but a trip sometime in a year or two.

From listening to other 803 machines your is defently over speeding. I would also recomend to check the Hz with another measuring instrument. Bmxenbrett has my vote on the injector pump miss timed. But Im sure once you get the information Guy needs he will solve the mystery. Congrats on your...
Has anyone pulled 12 volts off one battery in an 24 volt setup? It has Worked for me but I have heard that the charging system doesn't replenish the battery like it should.

Coug is correct. I'm thinking that when you pull too much current the engine tries to make it but not enough horsepower to make the 1800 rpms so it slows down to where it will do what it can. The real issue is with over current the windings heat to a point to melt the varnish off the coils. Be...
I use a used heat pump HVAC air handler. It works great. Most units have one two or three heating packs in them. Each pack is basicly 5kw each . The first run with my 802a worked great on the first bank but then I was so excited that a GovPlanet 802a was running and generating I forgot the...
I'm too far away but offer it (engine, or gen set, frame, or all) through steel soldiers for free and I'm sure someone in your area will gladly take it. There will still be some parts that are needed out there. At a shop hourly rate it would not be cost effective and it the owners did not spent...
Don't know what happened to everyone but it looks great to me. I does appear to be a lot of work to pull it all together, but you will never know just how many hours you will save the new owners of this MEP sickness at some point we get. Thanks for you help.
Edit-- I should have read to the end...
