    MEP-8xx series fuel pump

Just checked Summit and it now shows the pump as "NOT AVAILABLE". :(

    MEP-831a will not start.

Hate to sound like a broken record but you need to start with the manuals. You can download them from the forum. There is a link at the top of the page for "Technical Manuals" aka TMs. Go through the wiring on the machine and look for anything loose or disconnected. Check EVERY WIRE. I'm not...

    MEP-803A no AC output

That's my thought is there is a leak somewhere allowing the system to drain back into the tank. Just for grins maybe remove and check the seals on the filters.

    MEP-803A no AC output

Hm.. As a test set it to prime for like a minute before you try to start it. See if it dies after it starts.

    MEP-803A no AC output

The hard lines should not loose prime. If they do you have a problem. How much air air do you get out? If you crank longer will it start without priming it?

    MEP-803A no AC output

With the switch in RUN/Prime but the engine not running do you have fuel returning to the tank?
  7. DieselAddict

    MEP-803A no AC output

Are you letting it run in "prime" for 30 seconds before you try to start it?

    MEP-803A no AC output

Bleed the system? Can you describe what you are doing?

    MEP-803A mixed load test results

The load meters are notoriously inaccurate. I personally recommend using your clamp on meter and correlating it to the meter best you can. The next best thing to do is replace the load meter with a more accurate setup.

New to you machine? Check your connections!

Looks like whatever was wrong with the photo upload is fixed.

New to you machine? Check your connections!

I know I've mentioned this before but it does bear mentioning again. When you bring a new machine home you really need to open it up and check EVERY connection in it. Every terminal, every switch, every plug. One loose wire can do more than cause a gremlin it can destroy the machine. The...

    Which switch were you moving?

I was going by this in the OP:

Max rpm , 10 kw engine

If you go back to the manufacturer they are listed up to 3600 RPM for the engines in the 803/813 units. https://www.listerpetter.com/engines/lpw4/

The MEP-831 goes to the track

Hi Mike, I've browsed the forum but I'm not signed up over there. Lots of great info to be had there. Generator update - Think I have the fuel leak sorted. The hose clamp on the filter inlet was loose. I took the opportunity to check all the rest of the clamps and they were all snug. Did a...

Generator Newbie Seeking Real World Experience and Feedback on MEP-805A vs. MEP-805B

Well, if you are buying a MEP its obviously going to be used. I don't know about your market but its pretty common here in NC to find used single phase generators well under $10k. If you search the Raleigh NC area craigslist now there is a 20kw Onan for under $5k. Its stated to be in running...

The MEP-831 goes to the track

There is a radio in the car for coms. Might be a bit tough enjoying tunes while someone is trying to run you off the track. haha

    MEP-831a Troubleshooting

I'm booked up this weekend but if you are coming through you are welcome to drop it by the house. I can give it a once over and let you know what I think.

The MEP-831 goes to the track

This is why taking the generator was a good idea.

The MEP-831 goes to the track

Ha. Those guys are cool. I bought all the chevy volt batteries I have from them. The chevy batteries were too bulky. I could see taking a MEP803 engine and doing a ghetto turbo then putting it in a Chevette or something suitably terrible.
