Count me in. I’ll be bringing my M35A2 W/W and a bunch of recovery gear (snatch blocks, chains, etc.). I might be able to get there Thursday night late and reserve a spot again with Chris if he is going.
In addition to what others said, try adjusting the valves. Tight valves when it is cold could make it lose compression when it gets hot. Besides, if you never did it before, its good PM to perform regardless.
My Dad and I took apart the tachometer in my Deuce when i rebuilt it after the crash. the gauge faceplate (the part with the numbers on it) somehow got bent upon impact. everything else was fine with the gauge, but it was bent pretty bad. That is how hard the truck hit. We were able to...
If the seal surface looks bad on the yokes, get a repacement yoke. If you can't get a replacement yoke, put the best looking yokes on the outputs. Sometimes you can mess around with how far you set the seals so that the seals ride on a different part of the yoke. It all depends how the yoke is...
When I rebuilt my M35A2, I used a cab from a M35A3. That cab was reinforced and also had the legs of a ring mount on it when I bought the cab. There was a lot of sand throughout the truck, so I am guessing it was also a gun truck at one time.
I have charged them one at a time with the dog bone on using a 12 volt charger. I do not have a battery equalizer. Just make sure you pay extra attention to the polarity. Also check to make sure the cables are tight and you have good connections since you are right there.
Holding your hand over the exhaust port is not a good test for compression I don’t think. How about adjusting the valves? Adjusting the valves is small, inexpensive thing to try doing…. Not to mention good PM.
Does anybody know how to repair / fix, vinyl soft tops or cargo covers? My dilemma is last winter the mice chewed a hole in my cargo cover for the deuce. I was so, so angry because that cover was mint. It was almost brand new. I thought there were two holes in it, but when I last looked, I only...
Make sure you take a good look at the starter cables to make sure the right ones go to the right spot. I know with mine i think they both go to the starter... or in that area. By taking a quick look it might be confusing what cable is which if they both go to the starter.
I bent my governor rod to the side a little bit. When I first tried to start it, it was definately touching and was hung up on the solenoid. Maybe i just need to play around with the droop more. After that is set, is set, I can adjust the throttle cable like the TM says, pushed all the way in is...
how badly bent is bad? i had to bend my arm out a little to get mine to not rub on the shut off solenoid. that rubbing problem is so frusterating. my generator was bought with only 2 hours on it, practically brand new. but when i bought it, the governor did not seem to work quite right.
I tried adjusting the droop on my MEP-002A last week just to see if I could fine tune it better. I couldn’t seem to be able to adjust the droop screw (it lowers the spring on the governor rod) down enough to make the engine hunt. My linkage seems like it free and lubricated. When I bought the...
and your truck was 686 tan when you got it? Do you prefer one over the other? When I looked online it seemed like the khaki paint seemes to be a better match? I am just wondering if somebody thought one was better than another. Having the sun fade the paint makes a big difference and would be...
Any updates on what spray paint best matches the 686 tan? I am going to touch up my MEP-002A and would like to see if I can get a can of krylon or rustoleum tan paint to best match the 686 paint. My main reason for the touch up is to get rid of the writing they painted on the side of the...
If i am running WMO in the truck, what gauges would be needed to moniter my primary filter? My in tank pump is new and works great. my question is, with the tank cold and having around 75%-100% used motor oil, how much pressure will I have before and after my primary filter? With diesel, it is...
I had mine made at a hydraulic hose shop. If I was going to do it again, I would make it one piece from the injection pump to the primary filter and do away with the copper piece under the cross member. The hose would be routed so that it is not under the cross member also. I think it is JIC...
