Well after driving for 18 of the last 36 hours, I'm home with my latest green toy. I picked up a very complete M51 chem shelter at a very good price. Everything appears to be there. The trailer only has some surface rust around the bottom edges. Tires look to be in decent shape with lots of...
Hey John, I know were an older gasser 5 ton wrecker is for sale here in Michigan. Last I heard he wanted $4500 for it. It is need of some basic resto work, but was a very solid platform to start from. We used it when I bought my deuce bed from him to load it on my trailer. seamed to run OK...
Re: RE: Clare MI Show Aug. 17-19th 2007
Saturday tends to be the best day, as a lot of people tend to pack up and leave after breakfast sunday morning.
Well this is getting close at about a month away and I haven't seen much chatter about it like last year. So here, lets get things rolling and figure out who all is going to try and make it this year.
I plan on being there at least sat. the 18th through sun. the 19th. with both my M35 and M715.
Paul, we'll miss having you here this year, but have fun in the artic. I look forward to seeing your 715 once it's done. I'll be at Clare this year with both trucks. The Clare show is Aug. 17-19.
Don't be affraid either if you want to hang a for sale sign off of your truck while here. With a crowd last year of around 10,000 someone just might want to empty their pockets. Last year, a guy brought in an unrestored M37 on a trailer and was able to sell it to someone who caught "green...
Nope, it was the 860th medium class truck accepted. That's out of all medium class trucks for that year, not just M715s or M726s. The very first medium truck accepted for 1969 would be 03A 00169 reguardless which model it was as long as it was classified as a medium truck.
I've had good luck on a stuck shaft on my off-road Jeep using grease like David Doyle sugjested. Just keep pumping the grease through the zerk and use the grease to hydraulic the shaft out.
And that it was the 860th medium truck accepted in 1969. "A" being the from the first 999 accepted, and 860 being what number it was, 69 at the end indicates the year accepted, and 03 indicates medium class of vehicles. And as example, 03B 86069 would have been the 1860th medium truck accepted...
Come on over it is shaping up into a nice show. Remeber vehicles displays are FREE and prizes will be awarded by the public's vote, not some stuffy old rivit counting judge. Free show registration is availble here; http://www.davidallenracing.com/show-registration.htm and event info here...
I haven't heard from Gilbert yet. I'm going to try and meet up with Keith (Amanco) who lives in Delawere OH, tuesday night after I get to my buddies house. Rudyard sound like a good idea, but I don't think I'll have the extra time to get all the way up to there. It would add an extra 3 hours...
When I first wrote the write up about just bending the tab a little more to help it keep contact it worked great for me for about 6 months. http://www.steelsoldiers.com/index.php?name=PNphpBB2&file=viewtopic&t=5019Then it started to let the paw slide back under the tab. A lot of it had to do...
I'm trying to move stuff around on my schedule to try and get up there for the show. If I come I'm only going to be able to bring the M715. Where is the set up going to be? I know on GLMVPA there was mention of setting up at the fire barn, is that still the place?
I just took an old set of deuce taillights that were cracked and not in good enough shape for me to use when restoring the deuce and added an extra set of brackets and those lights on my trailer. Made a seperate wiring harness for the 24v lights that I plug into the deuce only, and left the...
I just looked to see who they play that day, and it's the Irish! I'm sure with U of M's recent history with playing the Irish, you might be better off hiding that day. I'm sure it will turn into an ugly riot afterwards.
BTT
I,m going to be on a fairly tight schedule so it has to be in there on the afternoon of the 17th. After pick up my items in Shadyside, OH, I'll be heading back to Columbus to stay with my old college roommate and his family. I,ll then be headed out early morning the 18th to get back to the...
Re: RE: taillights?
I'm picking up a M51 Chem Shelter Trailer that's in excelent working shape with all the pieces. It was on ebay about a month ago and the guy had $3800 on it I low balled bid and he just got back to me with a second chance on it. I bought it for about 1/8 what he had as...
