Ken what Robert said makes since... With 7/16 If you helicoil it to 1/2 your using a 5/8 OD thread so you have meat to tap into and the helicoil brings you back to the size you need... Or if you make a 1/2 -7/16 stud you get a 1/2 stud sticking out (if you can use a stud). I prolly have that kit...
I think ya brought it over the day you sand blasted that manifold???
I healthy fear of karma is a good thing... I may loan something and forget but when I am borrowing something I commit that to the ole hard drive up stairs!
Bjorn I have Kenny's wrench which I am supposed to be copying (and have supposed of done it 2 months ago  lol).... it has the dual head cuts and offset handle also... I think he said he bought it from a guy in CA whom was making them.
Its just rust holding it...
With the bolts out gently use a chisel or screw driver and tap them into the grove on the pulley (the one that compresses when the bolts are tightened)... Don't go crazy and beat it to dead you just want to spread it a fuzz bit... Spray it down with PB or your...
Its fine to put a filter before a pump... A lot of off road equipment is set up that way with dual filters due to the crap you get in the tanks from poor quality fuel. If your not pulling fuel from a crappy source (off road diesel) you shouldnt NEED a pre filter but you can do it if you want the...
Even if it went through all of the gears I would give it the once over... Pull the plugs... look for metal... pull the covers and poke around... give it a good flushing and see what is going on in there.
Man... I feel better and better every time I read a auction thread... I picked mine up w/w for $2600 last April... minus a few mechanical "glitches" it was in excellent shape considering everything!!!!
I don't get what people are doing with these things... Selling all of the parts at fair...
RE: Re: RE: Where to find a Detroit Locker for 5 tons
DOH!!! ... Sorry im wetodddid... lol I dont know the exact price but I know its almost 2X that...
To follow what Kenny said as he pointed me in the same direction several months ago... RR has them for 433.63... If you speak to Matt he will cut you a break and knock it down to 400$ (being nice helps)... 800.522.2707
The PN for the 2.5 Rockwell is 225S-15
Ditto with everyone but always start with the easiest solution first...
First... Welcome to the world of MV's... If you dont own a good multi meter and load tester already... enjoy buyiong them!!! Often you will find that the 3 of you will work very closely over the years!!!
Charge the...
No... the bearing is held together by a small snap ring that is not visible from the outside of the column. A very cheap design made out of stamped sheet metal parts rather than hardened races. The bearing is 26.45 from Memphis, if yours is in pieces I would replace it and be very careful...
Ditto on what Ken is saying.... The pin size is about .300 to large for 1/4 but to small for 5/16 and the pins I have are made with a slight taper. The idea was to keep bolts from being used in place of shear pins. As for the material im guessing by my own fiddling with turning a pin and testing...
The spring goes between the wheel and bearing... Pretty stout spring about 1.250L .800ID and .180 dia wire... Not exact but close to it anyways.
A column could function without it but it would vibrate and shift a lot I would think...
Randy I am sure that someone here can help...
Guys... Those of you whom have these PN's for the common stuff PLEASE list them on the parts cross section so that we may all have access to them. My thinking here is simple... The more we put into the site the more we get out of the site!!!
100$ on the light switch...Or the harness in between... I will explane in detail as wiring confuses the snot out of some.. If you understand it just bear with me on this as I will put it into as simple of terms as possible...
The path to follow is this... Battery (or start relay) to the light...
Ditto on what Bjorn said...
Just for ref...
Ign feed to turn switch is pin "G" on the TS harness (if there is power here your problem is in the TS, wiring or flasher)
Generally... If your brake lights are working then your turn switch is prolly fine...
Flasher unit wiring is... input (from...
As long as your not getting into hard parts the job should be pretty easy, 400's are very straight forward transmissions.
I don't know if I agree with a shift kit being a bad idea but due to the application you need a higher end clutch kit... (My preference Alto) If your kit is "clutch only"...
