    Painting aluminum

Not to be an arse to the above answers but here is the deal with aluminum... (years of aluminum experience) Two choices... Strip... it or part and piece... The second will always cause issues with corrosion along the wear lines... Bare aluminum should be treated with a conversion coating as...

    Federal Register

I think this change is in reaction to the investigation over the past few years which turned up items being sold which should not have been. Missile parts, gun parts and other things which were ether sold in "non EUC" auctions... were sold as "EUC items" but to parties that should not have been...

    Diablo Build Update (pics)

Napa... Echlin carries the switches, pending the part number some have mutable covers and a removal tool with them so you can swap them out. I have seen them sell for as high as 38$ a pop but I would say the average cost at Napa was about 14$ which is not bad for a waterproof switch. Nice part...

    How can I add a 12 v Alternator?

Reb, I should have elaborated on my belts, I have also installed AC on my truck so mounting options were nil to none for the 12V. If I were to add just a 12V alternator to my truck I would put it above the 24V where my AC compressor is located this will allow you to simply run longer belts to...

    How can I add a 12 v Alternator?

You can add an inverter but can only get so many amps but enough to run a radio plus a few odds and ends. Pulling a 12V wire off of one battery is not a good idea, when you hit the ign switch you have 24V and your throwing your load off between the 2 batteries... You can add a alternator and...

RE: Put 1050 CA 875 CCA in mine but took some mods Optima battery makes a adaptor plate that fits the military 6TL battery tray to their gel cells... The CCA will be higher but the RC will be a little lower pending which battery you buy. If you are worried about forwarding the 6TL and the gel...

    Diablo Build Update (pics)

Yeah but I am still not happy with it... but I am also not going to mess with it right now as I am a little annoyed with the experience. I removed the pump and measured the backspacing and gear engagement depth... as it was the driven gear was only meshing with about 1/3 of its surface to the...

    Oil for power steering?

Don't be surprised about it requiring motor oil, many hydraulic applications call for a straight weight OE between 10 and 30 weight... I don't have a 5 ton but I do know hydraulic system fairly well... Don't use hydraulic or UTF in a steering gear unless it calls for it... Both foam like crazy...
