    From fire truck to MTV

Successful thanksgiving, box is on the frame. Height is 12'7" at rear, 12'8" at front of box (driveway is not perfectly level) 7" to bump stop, 8.5" from tire to box. It was surprising how little the suspension moved when I put the weight on it. Cribbing and jacking was nerve racking as it was a...

    CTIS - Blowing oil

I'm not super familiar with MTVR but I would check the axle vents. Mine were plugged on an FMTV and it caused the same ctis issue

    LMTV Abs troubleshooting

Got a new LBCD because mine was crusty. New batteries as well. Showing .7 V drop across LBCD and voltage over 10v cranking. ABS still not functioning. All wheel sensors are reading properly, all modulator valves have good resistance to abs ECU. Not getting any error codes at all. ABS light is on...

Installed new hoses that move the cooler forward about 1.5 ft so the alignment rod won't hit it on full suspension compression.

Just enough clearance to get the C6 clutch housing off to prophylactically replace the thrust bearing.

Here is what my brother found: "Those are standard radio tags. Typically used when rail shipping unit equipment. This truck most likely went to JRTC (Joint Readiness Testing Center) for pre-deployment training. While it's not 100% conclusive, the serial number didn't show up under the W90KNQ...

I knew it the government is tracking me! ;) Happened to find this little guy between the radiator and skid plate. Battery was still at 3.7V too. Bonus is it might give some info on who had the truck, have my brother (former army motorpool) looking into it.

    Removing torque rods and v-bar

Thanks! That's what I feared, well I'll make sure I have the appropriate tools before trying to tackle this

Thinking through some different ideas for framing out the shipping container/box. I'm not very experienced with house building methods so I'm kind of just winging it. Figure you guys may have some different ideas. I already have 2" closed cell insulation in the container. I do live in WI and...

    Removing torque rods and v-bar

Yeah I looked in the TM and laughed at that less than helpful advice.

    Removing torque rods and v-bar

Anyone have any tips on removing these? Wondering if special press tool is needed, or if the taper is big enough they can just be tapped out fairly easily?

Best way to remove the suspension squat sensor on the middle axle of M1088 (has braided wire loop on it)

Some had the squat valve to load level with air bags. My truck has abs and does this.

Looking for M1078A1 ABS troubleshooting guide

I guess that's an "advantage" of my MTV with no box....I regularly lock up tires going out of my steep driveway on tarmac. Good for abs testing....

Looking for M1078A1 ABS troubleshooting guide

Right, the circuit breaker is required. Mine was the same (missing circuit breaker, no light). If everything else is correct except the abs computer the light will be on.

Looking for M1078A1 ABS troubleshooting guide

So ABS has to turn off that light, at least on my A1R. If the ABS computer is disconnected or not functioning that light will still be on.

    Eliminate the air/oil pump

Replaced the four 75/86 (reserve capacity 70 each)batteries with 2 6TLs(reserve capacity 230each) Wasn't a fan of the floppy way they fit in the battery box plus now I have more room for activities. I see a lot of people saying the price on the 6TLs is terrible but these were $240 each from...
