This is similar to mine...a little more than mine does, but if yours is anything like this and it has no symptoms of issues I think your fine, especially if it goes away or reduces when it is revved.
Mine has a small amount of blow by and it has 60,000 on the clock. With the oil cap off and the engine running there is white smoke if you look down the tube but it is small enough that with the fan blowing you can't see any coming out. If it is small like mine I think it is normal and nothing...
That tripped me up as well...except I used a prying screwdriver not a hammer...and when it didnt come off I went to the tm's and kicked myself, but no harm done.
When I change a filter I just open the air bleeder on the filter base and pull the red primary wire and crank it for about 15 sec or until air stops coming out. Run over close the bleeder and then hookup the red primary and crank it up. Or get a spin on filter base...mine started leaking and I...
Thats the gearing making the engine's 250ft*lbs 500/450 at the wheels. A tubocharged 7.3L powerstroke only makes around 500ft*lbs at the flywheel and there is no way that a stock 6.2 can even come close to that.
Well if it is any indication when I got the truck 2 years ago the coolant was dirt brown and it took 4 flushes and radiator clean out stuff to get the fluid to cleanup and the radiator was 50% blocked. I think that means someone wasn't keeping my freeze plugs rust free.
Well it looks like it is...
Get a 3/4ton 14 bolt and D44 or 1 ton Dana 60 front D60/14 bolt is bullet proof D44/14 bolt is ok. The 3/4 ton stuff will just bolt right in and with a conversion u-joint your done. Even the front break calipers from your 10 bolt will bolt on a D44.
Not as bad as it sounds I just did bearings, new axleshaft, and the inner axle shaft seals on mym1009's D44 which is practically a 10 bolt. The u-joint could probably be done in 2-3 hours without much difficulty. Now inner axle shaft seals...thats fun aua
Well my truck has been parked for the last month and I noticed a few drops of fluid on the axle and ground. After looking into it it looks like the drivers side freeze plug under the engine mount in leaking. Is this indicating a head gasket problem? What needs to be done to fix it? It runs about...
My weight plate vibrated the bracket enough to fatigue it and break it, thus causing my weight plate to disappear. Anyone have the plate and numbers for cheap/free so I can replace mine?
Thanks,
Miles
What type of sound? Knocking, Rattling, throaty rumble? How fast? Does it vary with rpm? Roadspeed? Is it worse at a certain rpm range? Any engine blowby from the oil filler? Oil in the intake? Smoking?
:driver:
Ever since I bought my truck 1.5 years ago the speedo would bounce between 5 and 25 below 25 mph. I noticed however that with the 105+ weather that has become a bigger problem where now it goes from 5-50 below about 55. The speedo cable was chirping about 3 months ago so I pulled it out of its...
Hmmm missing injector? Let the engine get ice cold then start it and run it for 30 sec to a min. Then shut it off and feel each port on the exhaust manifold. If one is cold while the rest are hot that cylinder is having issues.
