Guys i am willing to bet those trucks will bring some big money. You have to figure in the price of scrap. I know you guys don't like to hear this but scrap is 14 cents a pound. That is a fact of what the scrap dealers are paying. What are they getting I don't know. But it has to be more...
Even after all the cheap multifuels are gone you could always repower cheaper then a ground up rebuild.
What are the cost of the parts, gaskets, etc? Not mentioning the machine work and cost, and where would you get the parts?
That's part of what kept me from outbidding you.
You got to read the fine print and understand what it means.
Not every truck is listed like that some are and some are not.
IT will effect how much well informed people are willing to bid.
I do have an 818 that i would sell.
THe class A and Class B permits require no written tests. They do require a road test. I am told, ( I can not verify because i have not done it )
that the noncommercial road test is the same as the commercial road test.
2010 Commercial Driver’s License...
You can drive a cargo with a class B license.
If it has a fifth wheel you better have a class A.
I was turned away for my test best I didn't have a class A permit, and I didn't have a trailer with the truck.
No they would not let me take my class B test with the tractor bob tail. They...
I have been told directly by PENN DOT that a tractor needs to have a class A license because it is setup for towing a trailer over 10,000 GVW.
I have been turned away from a class B test with my truck waiting at the testing office. I had the truck there as well as an appointment for the...
So if an item has a price of 0.00 that means it is basically free? Right?
So just go on all the ads with no price and click commit to buy. That will cause the posters to put a price on their next ads.
If it is an old / dead ad then it won't matter.
Someone needs to start cleaning up the...
I finally was able to track down a M105A3 trailer to use for my bobbed truck project.
I plan on putting an A2 bed on it and still use the frame.
I also plan on using the tires and wheels as an option for the bobbed truck.
I have a total of 5so that would work out nicely.
I can put 9.00 x...
I have 3 sets of tires and wheels planned for my bobbed duece.
1. 14.50 x 20 MPT
2. 395, X 20
3. 10.00 x 22.5
All tubeless and all proper tires/ wheels
If you had a 105A3 you would have a surge brake. You could put a 1 ton truck axle under it, lower it, lose some weight and still have brakes.
Probably best to just get a 101
Something like that or make the person manually click a box in the classifieds to relist it.
There was a 5 tom truck that i know for a fact was gone 6 months ago and it was still popping up in the classifieds. People were still posting questions and needed parts etc from it.
Finally the ad...
My comment was not in defense of this thread but pointing out a problem with the other system.
There are probably many threads in the SS data base that have little to no valve. wading through all of them to find the gold from the junk would be a huge task.
I am not suggesting this either...
Part of the problem is people don't go to the classifieds. Or at least they don't search through them.
Then you have the old ads in which the item is sold, not for sale ie gone and the ads are still there. The posters don't maintain their ads.
An important question.
Who did the bobbing and how was it done?
What rear springs? Did they weld on the frame.
Was it a good job? That is probably more important then what colour it is.
I have good engines in PA that i am scrapping because there is no demand for them. You should be able to find a good multifuel some where for low dollars.
