    Make sure you check the metal below the hoses you are using periodically. The polyester outer covers like to hold water/moisture and cause rust.

    How should I patch my transmission cooling line?

    Rubber hose for a very temp repair and Replace with new steel line soonest. The rubber will slip off the ends of the lines and dump all of your trans fluid and then you will have fried trans... Try Summit Racing...

    4.56 vs 4.10 Gears

    I changed the gears from 4.56 to 4.10 on my M1008. Did not loose towing and acceleration is about the same. If you have a reason to change, I'd say go ahead. Mine had loose internals in the front and decided to do the swap when I rebuilt it. Cost was about $1100 each end but included everything...

    Actually has used this method but used 3/8 x 7" bolts as it gives you a little more clearance to work. Wear gloves as there are sharp little buggers waiting to get knuckles...

    The M1008 will fit the largest Uhaul car trailer they have, with 4-6 inches to spare, with stock tires. Retrieved my M1008 from San Antonio on one, but behind a 2500HD... Keep looking, you will find one!

    They like to be used! Nothing is more harmful than not using a piece of equipment. If it solves the scraping/rattle for a very short while and you know you just zapped it full of grease, you can now point to it as the culprit OR to start looking at other things.

    Try shooting some grease in the u-joint and giving it a try and see if the noise goes away or changes.
