So what's the latest news? anyone use Mineral Oil as a fuel yet?
I found this bit from wiki:
Firespinning
Mineral oil is the main fuel used by professional firespinners and firebreathers. It is chosen for its high flashpoint and low burning temperature. As a firebreathing fuel it is ideal...
It took about 2 months to get one for my 5 Ton. It took about 14 months to get one for my M100.
What's complicated? seems simple enough to me. The Historical Vehicle plate gets you out of a load in taxes, fees, and regulations.
I found this out in the country.
It looks like some sort of WWII USMC trailer. I've never seen something like this. But I can see a MC in yellow peeking out.
I can only guess it's some sort of a 1.5 Ton trailer. It's taller, but not as wide as my M116A2. The axle and suspension certainly doesn't...
When I was removing CARC camo paint chips from the rusty hood, I discovered that under the camo paint, the hood was semigloss OD, with a yellow nose. Thus I HAD TO paint it back that way... That yellow nose carries with it historical significance!
I pride myself to preserving the history that...
You cab bows are barely visable in that photo, like they're too low.
That's my 5 ton. I've already sold the camo top and put on a canvas top, but I just don't have any photos of it handy from this last year.
DUDE!
My girlfriend and I are driving to Colorado in a couple of weeks. Does this M1031 run? we could drive it out to you for a small fee!

Industrial Nameplate. But there's two companies by that name. They did a great job on these things, other than those couple mounting holes being a little off sideways.
And I should have mentioned these still have a transparent film on them so they look a bit fuzzy and gray in the photo. When...
M1061A1 Data Plates
Both the Data Plate, and the Tie Down/Loading Plate is being sold as a "set" here.
My M1061A1 was missing data plates, so long story short, I had these reproduced from photos and measurements from another trailer.
Unfortunately a couple of the mounting holes are a bit...
It looks like you're missing the cab's top bows
It should look a little more like this

I had to start buying whole new SETS of tools to work on the 5 ton. (That's getting expensive!) And I have to find some specialty stuff and order this and that. The shear scale of things on this truck is overwhelming - much larger than the 2.5! :|
The Differences between a deuce and 5 ton are huge. Unless you're ready for a 5 Ton, you might want to start with the deuce before making the next jump to a 5 Ton.
