Cleaver Brooks Amphibious DUKW Trailer Restoration

If you look at most of the old pictures online they show exactly what you described. The later ones actually have a quick disconnect tongue so when it passes you up in the surf you pull a line that goes to the tongue and it releases the lunet ring from the trailer. Ryan

Cleaver Brooks Amphibious DUKW Trailer Restoration

Well the Trailer showed up at my friends shop last Friday morning. With all the dirt in it we had to use his 10k forklift. We picked up and set it on to my trailer and now the fun begins. This morning myself and one of my guys started shoveling all the dirt and trash out of the bottom...

    Deuce start up?

One of mine starts with no pedal and the other one requires me to hold a little pedal for 30-40 seconds. If I don't apply pedal it will start and then die 10 seconds later. This truck in the begining never did that till the last year or so (it also seems like it lost some power around the time...

    True or Not True?

Most of the automotive sheet metal is galvanized by the mid 80's. Also I would take everything Steve says with a grain of salt as the guy is a professional B.S.er Ryan

Super single hemmit rims hubs fliped out on rear?

The other option is to take the studs out and countersink the hub. At that point it would clear the rim. The only precaution is have a machine shop set up and countersink them because if the countersink is not centered on the stud you will put a lot of stress on the studs pulling them out of...

    Deuce Engine Overheating?

I agree. Most of the problems I had was the sender going bad and not the gauge. Make sure you have the right sender as well. There is two different temp ranges. Ryan

MRAP wheels and tires on a deuce?

I am wondering if there is something being out of spec or out dated on those wheels because there has been several sets for sale or sold out here in California as well. It is odd that they would surplus new parts for current vehicles across the country with out a reason. Ryan

    Bobbed DUKW

And This DUKW was not even close to a museum piece. Ryan

    Bobbed DUKW

You have got to be F***ing nuts to bob a DUKW! Rare pieces of history like that need to be preserved NOT DESTROYED. Sell it to someone who will care about it and go buy yourself a deuce to bob! It makes me sick when people want to destroy historical items. Send it down to me and I'll add it...

    California CDL: Another Clarification (long)

This is why I have no proceeded to get my CDL. I need a Class A for my pickup truck when I am hauling my car trailer but I can not take the test in the pick up and I can not get my class A with the deuce or 5 ton. This state pretty much has their head up their a$$ when it comes to licensing...
