You can look into buying a laser tachometer from Monarch Instruments or another manufacturer. Put a piece of reflective tape on the crankshaft pulley and compare the laser tach readings to what soldier B reads on the dashboard tach. PM me if you want more info.

I had a tire shop mount a 9:00-20 tire on a deuce wheel for me. I noticed the tech not using a safety cage (they had one), so I went into the waiting room and watched wrestling on their tiny TV. I was half expecting to hear a big boom, but the guy got away with it somehow.
It was cool to see the C-17 back up several humdred feet on the taxi way as well. They had the door open in the back with some airman watching. I guess C-17's don't come with rearview mirrors.

Just an FYI: When I had my deuce, it was hard to see stoplights at intersections without leaning forward and looking up, and I'm only 5'10". This will only get worse if you chop down the windshield.
