Ah, I see. I "assumed" and we all know what that gets us, lol. While that is less risk, I still think I would consider it carefully. I think something like this would raise questions in all the wrong places. Good luck to you if you try it but it seems as if you are stretching yourself thin...
I think I would leave it. It's not worth spending time in Leavenworth or getting the boot for. Especially since you can pick up a deuce in similar condition stateside for less than what the shipping will cost you. You could spend a lot of cash shipping it here only to have it seized when it gets...
Before rebuilding one, check for play or evidence of leaks in the throttle shaft where it sticks through the baseplate. It is very common for Carter BBDs to wear out the baseplate and it must be drilled and bushings installed to get it back in spec. If the baseplate is worn, you might as well...
I had a set of Hadley air horns on my old show truck. They were the twin style and came as a complete kit with an air compressor, tank and all the lines and I bought the snow caps for them later. They worked great and were louder than hell. I still might get another set for the Ramcharger at...
If you look at the trailer behind it in the second pic, you can see where the top of the tailgates are at different angles. That doesn't take the ground into account but I would say it's a little tweaked. Probably a broken spring or something.
Agreed. If they are going to go so far as make vague rules about "noisy and smoky" you can bet they will have something to say about how big of an "eyesore" a MV will be even in restored, perfect operating condition. People like that make me want to buy property next door to them and put in a...
Look at the tag with "Radio Set" at the top. I believe it has the model number to the right of the shelter description on the second line. I can see an "S" but I can't make out the rest.
Looks like an Israeli Merkava Main Battle Tank wth the turret spun around backwards, lol. Cool rig for sure. How many 10 tons does that make for you Dirt?
The 440 didn't exist in 1964 so unless it was replaced, it's probably a 361, 413 or 426. Naturally anything could have been put in there over the years. To ID the engine, look on top of the engine right behind the water pump tot he driver's side. If there is a pad there like in the pic below, it...
I don't think they had an M number. There is one really nice unrestored one here local that still wears it's Air Force blue and markings but it's horribly faded. Those models tend to be the "ugly duckling" of Dodge trucks but still well built and awesome through and through,
