One of the threads on the site. Sorry I don't remember which has a guidance letter dated 2/9/88 from the NHTSA on the issue of military trucks being road worthy. Look for it, it is worth the search. I am having a go around in WA on this same issue with a 1991 M923A2. The state patrol...
Centralia WA, parade at 1600. Display in the park starting at 0900. See the events for more detail. This should be around 20-22 years at this event for us.
They would probably be fine with that. I got a slip this time as I didn't want to take any chances. my truck weights 21,500 and they told me they would have to register it at 34,000. Not sure why I couldn't have gone at 24,000. A lot of it is up to the interpretation of the person that is...
They do require a scale weight. At least with a GP Bill of sale and SF97 you shouldn't have any problem, unless is says for off road use only. if it says that, find a different way. If it is a clean SF 97 you should walk in pay your money and walk out with a license. My problem is on an...
Time to start gearing up for summerfest. This is an open event. Original or restored military vehicles are welcome. Event takes place at Borst Park. Exit 82 off I-5 on the west side of the freeway. 0800 breakfast in the park, 0900 - 1230 on display for the event. Vehicles and displays of...
Have the PNW Steelsoldiers campout at Winlock July 19-22. You might look on FB PNW Steelsoldiers for more info. July 4, Summerfest parade Centralia. Historic Display 0900 to 1230, lunch my house and then parade starting at 1600. May be other things as well.
I had that problem with an Interstate Battery. No more of those one year for me. Thanks for the tip on the batteries from Cummins. I have had them do some work on the truck that exceeded my abilities. You pay for it, but they know their product and did a very good job.
I know I understand that, but the local vehicle inspection person is confused on the issue. Another variable on this is that the VIN's were originally for passenger vehicles and not trucks. Haven't researched that further yet. We will prevail.
They certainly did not stamp that on the data plate. One plate says serial number, the other says Identification Number. They also do not have BMY in the state Data base, so they put American General on the title. So the lady is working on having BMY added to the data base. Some fun.
Am trying to get a 1991 M923A2 licensed in WA. It will be a title in doubt licensing procedure, due to a convoluted story. Went to SP for VIN check. Data plates in this truck say Serial Number and Identification Number, so he wouldn't go for that since it doesn't say Vehicle Identification...
Am taking my second try for an M923A2. First time a year ago, was told that we don't register Military trucks in WA. this will be for a title in doubt, due to the man passing away before he could start the process and his estate not being about to find the bill of sale and SF 97. Wish me...
We are losing our happy home of the last 3 years, so are diligently looking for some storage space for the boats and equipment. We are down to couple of affordable options and plan on moving day of 28 APR. Not sure where yet, but we will be going.
Have replaced both coil and pick up module. Still same problem. Have not checked fuel
Pump other than that it is pumping. Anyone have a problem with clogged pickup in tank?
Sorry don't think we do. You can find some things out on FB by looking up Gamewardens of Vietnam, or FB and PNW Steelsoldiers. I try to keep calendar events on there.
Excellent tips in this thread. I too vote for low cost JB weld. Had a one inch crack in a Mercedes diesel engine aluminum oil pan. Drained oil, heated to make sure all the oil was cleaned off. Did a straight JB weld and drove that car for 100,000 more miles before selling it with no leak or...
