They certainly could have been very Bad... . Twin 50's on the bow, 50 on the stern, M60 and grenade launcher amidships. One of the guys said today that they made a mount to have twin M60's on their boat. One of the other guys told me about when they were issued a 60mm mortar. They put...
We were working on the M931 tow vehicle and the sound suppressors for the OP Boat today. 24 MARCH will be the annual Rat's Nest Open house. 123 Habein Rd. Chehalis WA. Just off exit 76 and I-5. Tomorrow, have a bunch of small tasks to work on.
Got the inner axle seal changed in the Gamewardens M931 today and changed the gear lube in the Front axle. the CTIS still worked once we got it back together. Wish it did in my M923A2.
I haven't seen anyone water ski behind it, but they are a fun bunch of guys. They seem to do somewhere around 30-32 knots. Seeing one sitting in a museum and one on the water executing a full speed 180, makes for quite a bit of difference. Listening to those twin Detroits howl is great stuff.
17 FEB 2018 Work party at the Rat's Nest, 123 Habein Road, Chehalis WA. 0900. If you feel the need to help with minor maintenance items on the boats, there are two, stop by Saturday morning. We are considering new wiring on the OP boat, getting ready to mount engine mounts in Boat 2, to get...
You should bring your kids over on 17 FEB and check out the PBR's at the Rat's Nest in Chehalis. Heck of a lot less PBR's around than most military vehicles.
Went to a two battery system on the Gamewardens truck yesterday. Two of the four batteries were 2007's. Need to put the right front end back together. Have the seals. It ended up the short axle stub on the right side was broken. Unknown for how long or why. this is the truck that they pull...
Coug am also looking at the radio setup for the M151. May need to call you in for a consult later this spring. I think I have two of those radios now, so maybe one in the M38A1 too.
I have towed the M1102 with the M923A0 and don't remember any problems getting it hooked up. Towing is nothing, truck doesn't even know it is back there. It is also a bit of a challenge to back up. I knew it was jackknifed and thought I only needed to go a foot, managed to put a nice ding on...
Daniel, take your tech manual or go by a trucking outfit or solid waste facility and get a certified weight slip on your truck. I think last truck that I had a SF97 for, they looked at the bill of sale, SF97 and I had the manual with the weight and they did the job right then and there. Have...
Finished the new boots on the M923 and a drivers side tie rod end too. Plus had to replace the rt. front turn signal can. Mine was full of water and heavily corroded. Turn signal works again. Wow!
I have the g177's and the guys at the truck shop have me running 90/80. I know that is more than it says on the TP on the side for the backs, but that is what they suggested. And they know my truck pretty much just does highway or parades.
We did a display in Longchamps about 4 years ago. That was the area held by the 502. The villagers invited us for dinner on Sunday evening. One of the men left and came back with a worn Garand. He had picked that rifle up from the battlefield when he was a youth. What an experience to hold...
We went and did a Combat Veterans Motorcycle Assoc. Toys for Tots event in Lacey on Saturday. Even with bad weather, they did a pretty good job filling two and a half trucks with toys. We had an M923, M923A1 and M928.
Anyone doing Bastogne this year? If you are out and about, I will be helping with a 17th Airborne display at Flamerige. That is a small village on the outskirts of Bastogne, on 16 - 18 DEC. We will be set up in the small church. Stop by and say hi. If you haven't made this event before, it...
This was a fun trip. I hauled the 1944 Bedford from Seattle to Chicago for drop off. Took a couple days with family and joined back with them in Springfield Illinois for a couple of days. We were having a charging problem with the Bedford. Its generator didn't like to go so slow, so it died...
My situation is still in doubt for Saturday. I am running for office and need to be political that day. Ed probably around 0700 to 0830 you should be okay.
I am torn this year as they are going to do an event in my home town. Would like to show them how it is done, but will most likely be in Auburn. We have to have been doing that parade for nearly 20 years now.
