Agree with mistaken1. There is a very good reason there is a warning under the hood about not using starting fluids. When they hit the hot glow plugs, ignition takes place no matter what position the piston is in. This can bend a connecting rod etc.
It is only safe to use starting fluid on...

Me too. My dad is 83 and still plays with MV's, though nothing bigger than a jeep these days. He loves driving my M1009 and will ride in the deuce if I drive. :)

Sharecropper has a point. Maybe I am bad-mouthing NDT's because of running them at 50 PSI on an empty deuce. Lower air pressure in the back might have helped.

Modified sine wave will probably work fine for the coffee maker (especially older ones). Not sure about the alarm clock though. Why don't you buy an el-cheapo battery powered digital alarm clock.

While following Barrman's advice, also watch the front crossmember. A friend of mine had to replace the rivets with grade 8 bolts because the rivets were loose. He had half a turn of free play in his steering wheel. If it were me, I would try to find a frame repair place and get the rivets...
