I'd do a search on here and on Pirate 4x4 for "USA 6X6" before you ever attempt to do business with them. Daniel is well known for not making good on his promises and obligations, but we've hashed and rehashed that a number of times so I won't go into details here.
Also, are either of the 2 International vehicles even in production and use in any military as of yet? I knew they were done to try and snag a contract but I am not aware if they ever got one. Either way, as was stated above, most of the site is dedicated to vehicles we can obtain, work on and...
Another thing you can try is buy a hitch for multiple trucks. A lot of the "parts store" hitches will fit a few different full size trucks and the side plates and the crossbar are separate pieces. The crossbar slides inside a welded tube on the side plates and a bolt goes through each piece to...
If I remember the writeup from the guy in Leesburg VA that has M211 axles under his M715, the front axle does rotate backward from the standard of most axles and he did flip the hogshead. I think it required some grinding of the case to clear the ring gear and one or two bolts would have to be...
Actually I have seen quite a few that have been murdered. If you look at the patterns, you will notice how they wrap around the corners and across definable shapes like the grille and and other easily spotted identifying shapes as well as how the colors blend the windows into the pattern to...
If I remember correctly, the manual says to do the outlines in chalk. I always wondered if you would have to clean the chalk off after painting one of the colors or just paint over it.
Ahhh, I know just where that is. I worked for a company that installed a bunch of stuff at the local high school a few years back. I might know someone who would be interested, I'll let you know if he is.
Drool... If I had the cash, I would be on my way to New Orleans right now. That is how I envision the perfect Deuce. 3 color NATO, winch, and cargo cover.
The S-250 was made for the M37, I believe and then has been adapted over the years for whatever truck was in current use and basically fits an 8' bed with a little room to spare. Saturn Surplus had some that still had a lot of gear in them and there were some good pics on their website as well.
RE: Re: RE: Re: RE: Re: RE: Best ways to Research your Deuce
Sorry, forgot about the pics link. I'm no expert, but it definitely looks like a military truck to me. Judging from the data plates and the Civil Defense decals, I'd say it was used by the military, then surplus'd out to a local...
RE: Re: RE: Re: RE: Best ways to Research your Deuce
Does it have military data plates? Civilian models didn't get them though I doubt many (if any) firetrucks were sold as civilian models.
RE: Best ways to Research your Deuce
Good luck, lol. Honestly the best thing to use is sandpaper. The markings on the truck itself under the layers of paint is probably the only record of it's life that is available. Some have service history in them when they are obtained from the US...
