If you own an M35 you need this!

It seems to me that the only time the spider gears would be turning would be when the vehicle is in a turn. If the drive line goes straight through the first axle and then the rear axle driving the vehicle the one remaining connected wheel and hub on the front rear would be driven by the roads...

    HMMWV A2 Project

Nice project. About the only way I would take a HMMWV to rebuild is if I could get one that was mostly complete but missing the drivetrain. I would have to erase any GM parts from the vehicle and go with a Mopar drivetrain. I wonder if there is room for a 6BT in there? Lol...

    NP203

RE: Re: RE: NP203 The NP208 is an "ok" transfer case. It works well in most stock vehicles and can last a decent amount of time with proper care. The issue I have with the 208 is shock loading will tear it up in short order. It's still a good case, but it can't compare to the cast iron case...

Should I drive a deuce home from the auction?

Hmmm, I don't think the floor is warped. It just looks to me like the weatherstrip is loose.

    Look what followed ME home.

Yup, I see a vacation trip in my future. Are you giving SS members a discount? Lol! That is a seriously big machine. Is that tag on the trailer articulated or fixed? I'd hate to have to turn that rig around. I shudder tho think what the transportation costs were for that load. Beautiful...

    M35 Almost Finished

Nice looking rig, you did a great job on it. Does anyone know when the A2C Dropside model was introduced?

    Before / After Pics

Nah, I like the colored wheels. I think the pattern calls for them that way. I'm glad to see someone use the Rustoleum paint. I've been painting my Airsoft gear with the spray bombs for a while and I did the tail end of my M715 in the OD color over a red oxide primer base and I thought it...

    deuce recovery

Wow, and yeah, you had better have taken pics of the HEMMT and the two Deuces in tow because you know they will be screaming for it, lol. And just so I beat everyone to the punch... nopics

    What colors are these?

After looking at the second pic, it appears that there are four colors in that pattern, but it's just very hard to see. There are slightly darker patches in the khaki color but they are almost faded together. There's also another color of green on there but it looks like it was just touched up...

    What colors are these?

I dunno, I question the authenticity of that star. It looks a little lopsided and way too big. Almost like someone was copying a WWII era look or something. But then stranger things have come out of the military, lol.

    What colors are these?

Perhaps that isn't a regulation paint job. It looks like it may have been done by a civilian owner judging by the horrible looking star on the door under the camo paint.

    What to expect-buying a deuce-moving cross country

Do you have a trailer already? If not, make sure you get a trailer with a hitch that is a bolt on, adjustable deal. Then you can swap the normal ball socket for a Lunette ring that can be used with the Deuce's pintle hitch. Add 24V bulbs to the lamps and you are good to go. Another thing to...

NEW USER AND A NEW DEUCE!!!!

RE: New m35 I don't think anyone explained "PM" yet, although No2 Diesel explained what it entails. PM is Preventive Maintenance and you will see it frequently on the manuals and here on SteelSoldiers. It's your new hobby and your best friend when owning a big truck, especially a military...

    What to expect-buying a deuce-moving cross country

On a side note, if the "cargo box" Deuce is the old gasser maintenance body, it looks a lot more run down than what I would consider as a cross country trip vehicle. And if a Duece is too small, swap up to a 5 ton. :D EDIT: Nevermind, I see the truck they have now is a M109 and looks to be a...

    Ural 375 D

Sorry Chris, didn't mean to cause a commotion. I honestly enjoy picking apart photoshops, lol. It's sort of like solving a mystery or a puzzle. Anyway, I find the old Soviet vehicles very interesting. I'd love to have one one day but I think parts availability would be an issue here in the...

    Ural 375 D

Why does the spare tire on the first Ural pic look hacked off? Photoshop? Also why does it appear I can see through the last panel of the passenger side bedside and it matches the background behind the truck but not back at the tree in the back?

Need some advice-given am M35-but strings attached

Lower the caps please. It is considered screaming in 'net lingo. Also, I would caution against using any sort of illegal (or "less than legal") method to register a vehicle. These things have a way to come back and bite you in the end and I look for private MVs to be getting more and more...

    Bradley Drifting

    Out playing with the Goat

RE: Re: RE: Out playing with the Goat Nice Goat but why US Army colors and markings? I was under the impression that GamaGoats were only used by the Marine Corps but I could be wrong.

    Bradley Drifting

For info on the pro sport of drifting in the US, check out www.formulad.com. It started out as a street racing stunt in Japan and has now become a worldwide phenomenon. It truly has to be seen to be believed. These guys will start out side by side, get up some speed and then hit a banked turn...
