RE: Cucv Wheel Lug Nuts on Hummer Wheels
Thanks for the info guys. I tried to search but since the changeover to the new server I get more results that don't seem to have much to do with what I am looking for. Might also be the security I have on the connection at work since we changed...
RE: Cucv Wheel Lug Nuts on Hummer Wheels
So what exactly are the dimensions on the HMMWV rims and what are the differences int he 12 and 8 bolt designs? I did a search but never came up with anything conclusive. I need to know the rim diameter, width, and backspacing and whatever is the...
RE: REALLLLLLLLY NEW GUY TO M880
Well, it ordinarily isn't hard to find a junkyard with this sort of stuff in it around here but from what I gather, big junkyards around large cities seem to only carry late model stuff. Most yards can get on a locator and find what you need but you may have a...
RE: REALLLLLLLLY NEW GUY TO M880
It sounds like a civilian model W200 3/4 ton pickup. If so, it most likely has a Dana 44 front axle that is part time 4WD. Should have a NP435 4 speed and a divorced NP205 transfer case. The rear should be a Dana 60. The front D44 is a typical axle found in...
Here's my rant and few cents worth. First, stupid things like this are done everyday. In the off road world they are probably more common than smart things. I've seen rednecks do unbelievable things to get a laugh or to show off, I've seen the "intelligent" high class guys and gals in their...
The story about the Govt. getting interested in the anti-air vehicle is in the notes in the DVD I have also. Interesting stuff and one of my all time favorite movies.
Agreed, with the sleeper I always assumed it was some sort of short nosed KW, but now that I'm more knowledgeable about MVs, it is definately some sort of M35 variant. Probably something the movie studio worked up. The Soviet anti air vehicle in the same movie was a homemade piece and was...
RE: Fluids
Do not use metal ball bearings or BBs. They eventually crush down and are nothing but a rusty powder clumping in the tire. The guys on Pirate have had good luck with Airsoft BBs which are plastic or polystyrene.
Anyone have a pic of how the pintle is mounted and reinforced on an M880 or similar? Is it mounted in a frame cross-member or just mounted to the bumper with some brackets to add strength? I looked for the manual but either I'm blind or there isn't on on here. Thanks in advance!
RE: krylon
Couple things to remember... The Krylon OD looks best over a coat of red oxide primer to me, but different base coats will make it look very different. My M715 tailgate looked decently close to 383 with red oxide but my SR-16 looks more like a faded version of the old 4 color OD...
Nah, frame ends are different and 3 crossmembers have to be changed. The worst is the engine crossmember. I'd rather not go through all of that, plus having to modify the floorpan if I can help it.
Yup, been watching Craiglist too, lol. Trust me, I'm trying all the normal routes to find one but haven't found what I am looking for yet so I figured I'd toss a few lines in the pond and see what I could catch. I guess I should have specified that I wanted a 4WD Ramcharger also. The one's in...
Kenny, yeah the 81-93 models have the curved top to the rear glass. I would take a 70s model, but they have more rust issues and I guess I'd like an 80s model because of the old '84 RC I had before. If I could get real lucky, I'd find a '91-'93 model with the bulge grille and if I were really...
The Trailduster? I would but they were not available in the years I am looking for. I have about 3 Traildusters near me locally in various stages of decay, but in the years they were made the hard tops were removable and I want one with a full solid top.
Believe me, I'm looking at them but I...
