The left one looks smaller than the right one too. They were trying to show that the vehicles were bodged together from spare parts, I think they succeeded.. In one scene they found some bombed out vehicles and went scrounging for tires because they had no spares left

I looked at them too, they all seemed road worthy. Take a laser thermometer to check hub temps periodically on the trip home (looking for bad bearings), be sure the lights work (onboard ones, or magnet type you brought with). If the trailer lurches when stopping put the pin in the lockout hole...

The Military Chanel is showing the movie "Play Dirty" with Michael Caine, made in 1969, about British commandos in North Africa in WWII. I guess the studio could not afford real German trucks so they fabbed some up from M37s. Pretty good film too...
When I want to secure my M416 to the truck I pass the hook all the way through the securing loop on the truck and pass the lock through the chain, off the truck I use a separate piece of chain or a commercial lunette lock.
