On Saturday the 19th of January I hooked my old trailer to my trusty Bobbed A2 and headed to St. Augustine Fl to pick up another M35A3. This one was used to haul broccoli around one of the farms out there. There were two of them and I picked what I think was the best of the two. I might go get...
Unfortunately the title to the A3 I was supposed to get today hasn't cleared yet. So I'll have to wait until next weekend to get the truck. AceHigh anytime you want to stop by drop me a line.
Late Friday evening I got to drive my A3 around the property while sitting on a bucket. It's a massive step forward. Today I hope to install the temporary seats and get it out on the road for a test drive. On Sunday I'm going to pick up another A3. That'll put me at 4 deuces. Two A2s and two A3s.
This past weekend a little bit got done. I removed all the cracked air lines for the CTIS on the wheels and put on new airline. Checked all the connections and applied power. After a minute the system read emergency flat tire. I turned it off and back on. IT WORKS. The CTIS actually works. It’ll...
On one of my A2s I have a PTO winch installed that I rarely use. On my other A2 it doesn’t have a winch and I have no plans to install one. On my A3 I am adding bumper extensions and a Sherpa 25k winch that I’ll probably only use in an emergency. But I want it available if I ever need it.
Ready For Paint
All the rust repair is done and the cab has new floors. The trans is in and ready to go. The doors are rebuilt and operating correctly. The new top is on. The new windshield frame is in. Its time for paint. Ill be sanding it for a few days then applying the paint. Im hoping to...
I finally achieved my goal. The wheels hold air. I used new O-rings. New valve stem cores. New valve stem o-rings. And I sealed it all with ps870-b 1/2 sealant with corrosion inhibitors in the compound. So there should be no further corrosion.
I bought new truck light LEDs back in 2009. I don't daily my truck anymore but it does get driven at least once a week if not twice. Either too or from work with the head lights on. They still work awesome.
Yep it’s official. I despise A3 wheels. They will be off the truck and on the rifle range by the end of today. That’s about all they’re good for. They sure won’t hold air.
Ok. How many of you that use A3 wheels have issues with them. I have 4 that no matter what I do they leak at the O-ring. I have changed the O-rings, cleaned, smoothed any bumps or divots, and painted the O-ring seats. One I actually sealed with silicone and a new O-ring, that one held air for a...
I now have three deuces. One I’ve had since 06 and two more I just picked up. One is an A3. Here are a couple of quirks I’ve found about my truck A3. The trans works great. NOW. When I got the truck the engine sounded like it was about to explode. And it wouldn’t move under its own power...
This particular deuce sees a mix of off road and on road. I just used it on a 23 hour recovery to go get another deuce. So I tow a massive trailer sometimes. I off road it sometimes. And sometimes I drive it to work. I’ll probably save for another air locker just for the convenience of them. I...
I already have an ARB airlocker in my rear axle on my bobbed deuce. I’m thinking about moving it to the front and installing a grizzly locker in the rear. I almost never use the ARB. But it’s nice to have, just not nice enough to spend the cash on another one for the front. It’s like my winch...
