    gull-wing 5-ton shop truck

A few years ago there was one sitting in a fellows yard rotting away under a tree. On Hwy 24 between Swansborro and Morehead city in N.C. I tried to buy it from the guy when I was stationed there but he wouldn't budge. I could see it from the road when I drove by. I hope he either restored it or...

Bringing the Deuce back to 100%

Today I got back to work on the Deuce for a much needed fix. Awhile back I put in a seat from a Ford Aerostar. It's great other than it was blue. Friday at work the flight equipment shop helped me make some new seat covers. The bottom seat is completely recovered and it's sewn together so it...

    Deuce trailer build thread

Today I didn't make as much progress as I wanted too. But the back cross brace is installed and the support plates are all cut for the rest of the project. Cutting 6 inch triangles out of 1/4 inch plate takes a little more time than I wanted them to. Especially when every joint is going to have...

    Deuce trailer build thread

Today I notched the ends of the main frame supports so I can weld the cross braces to it. I will post pics once I get it moved out of the garage on Saturday to install the front support beams and the rear cross beam.

    Deuce trailer build thread

I'm not sure what's going on with the pictures. When I look at them on my computer they are correct. After I post them they rotate. I am going to put 5 main cross beams on it. And I am going to use the same size beams on the perimeter too. So it's going be plenty strong. The fun part is going to...

    Deuce trailer build thread

Here's day two. I know it looks like I didn't make much progress but that stuff is heavy.

    Deuce trailer build thread

"Moderators please bear with me on this. What I am building falls under both trailers and modifying Deuces. " Now onto the meat and potatoes. I am building a 30 ft trailer to pull behind my Deuce. Well sorta pull. I happen to have an extra set of tandems and thought why not make a trailer that...

Help with 10 Lug wheel conversion

I have decided to not use the wheels. They are a 10 lug pattern on an 11 3/4 bolt pattern. The center hole is 8 inches in diameter. So I would have to mating out the entire center and weld in a new center just to get them to work. Not worth the effort. So I'll either scrap the wheels for the...

    Pictures of my new M35A3

Great looking truck. Enjoy the green illness. My wife was cool with the first A2. After the next 3 rolled in she got a little concerned. I'm down to the one now so she's ok again.

Bringing the Deuce back to 100%

I left four air holes in the back of the box for air flow. The altimeter has a small air filter on the back so I don't have to worry about dust clogging the diaphragm. The entire thing is sitting in the box. It's 4 1/4 wide by 8 1/2 long. Not a bad fit and I riveted it to the frame support for...

Bringing the Deuce back to 100%

I've had it as high as 5000 ft and as low as sea level. At the top of the Cajon pass on the I15 and the top of the grape vine on I5 it runs just as well as it does at sea level.

    Black Diesel!!!

I run 7 gallons of gas to every 23 gallons of WMO. My Deuce has been running somewhere close to this mix for 4 years now with no issues. I played around with the mix ratio a whole bunch to get to this one. It seems to start the easiest and run the best on it. If I can get W automatic trans fluid...

Here in California if you have one too knew to use the historic plates it'll cost about 800 to initially register it and then 400 every year. Good Luck in pennsylvania

what kind of pyrometer are you using?

I am running an Isspro. For the first couple months it was fine. Now it bounces around for the first 10 minutes then settles out fine. And the light works when it wants to. Sometimes it's on right away then others it won't turn on at all. THe glitches are not enough to make me want to take the...

Bringing the Deuce back to 100%

Today I got around to installing the Altimeter. I put it in the left corner of the cab. I couldn't make it look right in the center.

Took the Deuce to work today

I love using my deuce as my daily driver. I commute 50 miles each way. Thankfully I have an almost unlimited supply of hydraulic fluid for fuel.
