PA - Fall 2014 Rausch Creek Steel Soldiers Rally

If anyone has a cooler with a little extra room for suds and sodas I would greatly appreciate it. My mermite cooler is currently at Art Swain's place undergoing a resto. Packing the truck up now, have to check coolant and oil levels and will hit the road shortly after. See you all there!

    I Want the big tires

The true diameter of a 7.00x16 tire is 30 inches. For 7.50x16, it's 31 inches. Not a big deal at all, run em!

    Trailer identification help

Check out the wheels on the Colemans one vs. your pic. Different trailer, I've seen a couple of those at Coleman's yard, they are rather small and designed for low-speed.

PA - Fall 2014 Rausch Creek Steel Soldiers Rally

Agreed, I am of the camp that we should do 2 runs a day, not 1 large run, and the first run should be 830-1 or so, then back for lunch, then out again 2-6. But we always seem to get a late start, it's hard to get people moving out of camp any earlier due to families, cooking breakfast, etc. So...

    Trailer identification help

The AM32 trailer uses M37 rims I believe, 5-bolt lugs. That trailer the OP posted looks to be 6-bolt lugs, bigger trailer. It looks like a lot of things that came out of the bombing ranges out west, that were used during the Cold War. There are countless modifications and variants of all...

    Joined the MKT elite

I love the concept of owning a MKT, but I will probably never need a kitchen that can feed that many people, it's just overkill. But I'm glad you saved one for yourself, it's pretty nice!

    R-2 crash truck

This is a rarity, most were scrapped for the aluminum bodies. The engine and drivetrain are all M37, and there's plenty of parts for anything engine, tranny, Xfer, suspension, steering, hardware, etc. related on that truck. Only the body was unique, and that picture shows, to us, a very...

Should I bring scrapple to donate to the cause? Not sure if anyone wants to eat that crap, but it's cheap enough I could provide a couple packages.

    M939 Boarding Ladder "Size" Question

The boarding ladder that Gunzy has is the one for the deuce. I had several of them, they worked fine on M35A2 but would be too short (if hooked on the tailgate lip) for the 5-tons. Gunzy made it work, thanks to his ingenuity. If you decide you want the one meant for your M939 series truck, it...

PA - Fall 2014 Rausch Creek Steel Soldiers Rally

That would be cool to see a HMMWV at the rally, never had one there before! I will be arriving Friday afternoon, around 5-6 pm. I doubt I will be the first one there, but if I am I'll figure out something to block off the parking area for us.

    Trailer Identification

Yeah, definitely a road-only trailer. Wonder why they even bothered making it camo since it would probably never get off pavement into the woods. Better camo would be to paint it bright blue with PEPSI written in 6-foot tall letters down the side, would blend into any parking lot in America.

What do running M1008's go for on GL?

Might be cheaper in the long run to search Craigslist in your area and find CUCVs that are privately owned, or ones that are for sale in the classifieds here. For sure, some of what you will find for sale privately will be in better condition and for a fair price, than if you bought a GL truck...
